I mean anyone thinks CA is similar to Batman in some ways? i mean they did fought in DC vs. Marvel and became friends in Captain America/ Batman and JLA/Avengers.

Compare their combat skills, weapons, RedSkull to Joker, Bucky to Robin and all that. But we know JLA/Avengers are the same team.

If Cap was Marvel's Batman the Avengers would have won AvX already. :p

Cap isn't Marvel's Batman, there are many who have far more in common. For instance there are times when Cap will actually admit that he may be wrong before a problem gets out of hand (AVX Excluded)

In my opinion, Moon Knight is definitely Marvel's Batman.

#5 Posted by joshmightbe (24946 posts) - - Show Bio

@Knight_Justice: Outside of Rich dude who uses gadgets to fight crime while wearing a cape they don't really have that much in common

#6 Posted by TheAnnihilator (1056 posts) - - Show Bio

Cap has more in common with Superman than he does with Batman. T'Challa, Daredevil, or Iron Man would be more like Batman.

Moon Knight, Iron Fist, or Black Panther

#8 Posted by Madame_Mist (1325 posts) - - Show Bio

Nah. Batman seems to be a combination of characters.

#9 Posted by Mycroftian (109 posts) - - Show Bio

Batman and Cap share some common ground, but who you pick as Marvel's closest equivalent to Batman depends on what aspects of Batman's character you focus on. I would lean toward Black Panther as the most similar Marvel character, but opinions vary.

Moon Knight and Batman are cape crusaders, urban crime fighters, gadgets users, rich dudes, both use similar tactics, Also Black Panther and Iron Man are similar to Batman, rich dudes, gadgets users, state of the art technology, advanced weaponry/technology and so on. Batman has no equal, but in my personal opinion Moon Knight is Marvel's Batman. In the Marvel Universe we would have to fuse a few characters to create Batman.

i would say spider-man both had tragedy happen to them when they where young, both have arch Nemesis' that wear purple n green and are known for laughing maniacally and being crazy and an assortment of extended family(nightwing, robins, batgirls) (ben reily , kaine, jessica drew, julia carpenter, arana, spider-girl, venom carnage etc, and soon to be alpha )

both have important elderly people in their life taking place of mother/father figure and both have multiple titles solo and team books , both had movies series with reboots and both have their own self-named mobiles , though batmobile cooler lol

No, that's Marvel's Batman.

#13 Posted by joshmightbe (24946 posts) - - Show Bio

@Knight_Justice: There are literally hundreds of characters that fit the rich, gadget using, crime fighters description. Moon Knight may be cosmetically similar to Batman but they have completely different motivations and personalities. Not to mention Moon Knight will kill people

Exactly. I'm just saying that both similar, not the same.

  • Both had sidekicks.
  • Both died.
  • Both were replaced by their protégés.
  • Both came back.
  • Both met Obama.

They both have a tendency to go up against people that should be far too powerful for them and win

@BlueLantern1995: Batman came out in 1939 Cap debuted in 1941

#18 Posted by joshmightbe (24946 posts) - - Show Bio

@BlueLantern1995: I don't disagree just keeping the facts straight

#19 Posted by Gambit1024 (9890 posts) - - Show Bio

I wouldn't say that.

Iron Man is more like Batman than Captain America is.

#20 Posted by SyIar (405 posts) - - Show Bio

Daredevil

#21 Posted by Jakesully1981 (281 posts) - - Show Bio

And who thinks Red-Skull is like the Joker in some ways including their venom?

#22 Posted by voodoo1971 (12 posts) - - Show Bio

I say Black Panther, Moon Knight, Dare Devil(in some ways), and Iron Man( has some similiarities also). But I think Marvel should make the Falcon more like a Bat Man character especially with Falcon being added to Avengers 2. He showed some similiarities in Character when he starred in the "Captain America and the Falcon" series especially when Scarlet Witch was playing with their minds. But Captain America is definitely his own character.

I feel that Cap and Batman have quite a number of similarities: body's at mental and physical peak, master martial artists, unique trademark crime fighting tool (Utility Belt and Cap's Shields), playful kid sidekicks who grow up to be badasses and later took on their mentor's superhero identity after death (Robin/Nightwing, Bucky/Winter Soldier) , totally crazy disfigured villains (The Joker, Red Skull), specialized vehicles (Batmobile, Bat-bikes Batwing, Cap's Motorcycle, Cap's Van, Skycycles, and Quinjets), but at the end of the day their personaliies are radically different.

I think cap is more similar to marvels captain America. o.o

#25 Posted by voodoo1971 (12 posts) - - Show Bio

I see your points especially with sidekicks statements. They're different but the same in some ways. But after watching Batman fight that Owl gang of vigilanties I think and dare I say this but the Falcon should be the next Cap sidekick to go dark bad ass like one of those Owls Batmam fought. Just saying

Yes indeed, correction and wasn't that crossover comic of them together amazing? my fave of the post-DC vs. Marvel comics crossovers

#27 Posted by The Finality (133 posts) - - Show Bio

The one by John Byrne? I want to read it so bad.

#28 Posted by Jakesully1981 (281 posts) - - Show Bio

Yes that one, one of my fave Marvel/DC crossovers and wasn't it awesome to see them kick each others asses in DC vs. Marvel then become friends in JLA/Avengers?

And do you agree with me that Joker and Red Skull's gasses are the same almost?

#29 Posted by SandMan_ (4528 posts) - - Show Bio

...I do...

#30 Posted by vandinejd_1991 (319 posts) - - Show Bio

I wouldn't tell the Joker that you think that he's similar to the Red Skull, or you'll get that reaction.

#31 Posted by foolkiller1 (229 posts) - - Show Bio

I'll keep saying this till the day I die, moon knight is nothing like batman.

#32 Posted by Alexander505 (2165 posts) - - Show Bio

Cap is like Batman only physically, but not a genius like Batman in the field of science and strategy, nor has the technology and the money of Bruce. Batman is physically as Cap and intellectually and economically as Tony Stark aka Iron Man.

This series was basically Marvels version of DC characters, Blur = Flash, Dr Spectrum = Green Lantern, Amphibian = Aquaman, Power Princes = Wonder Woman and Hyperion = Superman (even had near enough the same background story)

#34 Posted by ValendianKnight (297 posts) - - Show Bio

They are really nothing alike. At all.

#35 Posted by Blood1991 (8098 posts) - - Show Bio

I wouldn't say so, but I don't like comparing Marvel and DC characters to one another in general.

#36 Posted by fodigg (6146 posts) - - Show Bio

While they're similar in many ways, they're also very different in a few key areas. I'd argue most notably that their politics are diametrically opposed. Batman is the conservative ideal while Captain America is a New Deal democrat.

#37 Posted by PowerHerc (85102 posts) - - Show Bio

No, though they do have some similarities, Captain America is not Marvel's Batman.

#38 Posted by Enosisik (1153 posts) - - Show Bio

Caps fighting skill, Spider-man's background, Starks company money and tech , some of his personality also , MoonKnights costume , DareDevil's villains

#39 Posted by tylertothemax (89 posts) - - Show Bio

@joshmightbe: Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark are strikingly similar.

Batman and Cap? not too much.

Batman and Iron Man? maybe a little closer

Batman is a pretty individualized character.

#40 Posted by Joygirl (20063 posts) - - Show Bio

Marvel has lots of Batmans.

#41 Posted by Eternal19 (2076 posts) - - Show Bio

No, I really dont find them similar in any way other than that they're good at martial arts

#42 Edited by Blood1991 (8098 posts) - - Show Bio

Marvel doesn't have a Batman, and DC doesn't have a Captain America. They have characters who have similarities, but none that share their same place in their universes.

#43 Posted by AssertingValor (5396 posts) - - Show Bio

Besides knowing how to fight (like the vast majority of characters) they are nothing alike.............

NAH!

DAREDEVIL+MOON KNIGHT+CAPTAIN AMERICA = BATMAN

Exactly there's no sole Batman in Marvel.

Moon Knight is a silent protector type, and he is a tad out of place with the Avengers and is rather quiet yet cool.

Black Panther has the dark clothes, fighting skill, and the tech. But not a vigilante, he's a king and usually takes on big fish.

Daredevil and Punisher both seem to protect the city at night due to bad memories of the past and growing up in the rough parts of town. Fighting crime is there vengeance.

Captain America, not even close, he's deffidently Superman if he dosen't fly around and shoot heat vision, he has his personality (except as a plot device in certain story arcs).

Funny you say that, Adam West voiced him in Super Hero Squad and SHS Nighthawk acted alot like Batman for obvious reasons.

As others have already said, they only thing they have in common is that they are both among the best fighters of their respective companies, aside from that they are really nothing alike.

define Batman is intelligence

the peak human ability and personality is really second

No. Just, no. Guys like Spider-man, Daredevil, and Moon Knight have much more in common.
