Captain America Vol. 4 # 29 - Super Patriot (Part 1)

AVENGERS DISASSEMBLED TIE-IN! Marvel Knights no more! Cap returns to the Marvel Universe proper, where he's thrown headfirst into one of the most hectic days of his career. Hydra has abducted a senator who's being prepped to run as the next president. Nick Fury enlists the aid of Captain America to bring the senator back home. Meanwhile, all is not right within the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization... who is the puppet master pulling the strings? You won't believe it when you see it!

Captain America is in a fight with Mr. Hyde who has recently escaped. Captain America incapacitates him and then leaves him for the local law authorities to take into custody. Later that day, Cap heads to his local video store to rent a movie. On his way home he finds Diamondback sitting on his steps waiting for him. He invites her in. Shortly after they enter, they get a knock on the door. It turns out to be Col. Nick Fury.

Col. Fury states that he has a new mission for the both of them and invites them to join him on the sub-carrier. Once aboard, he tells the pair that Hydra has taken a senator hostage and requests their help in getting him back. Cap agrees and jumps out of the sub-carrier just over the landing zone with Diamondback. As they're approaching the compound, they are fired upon. They infiltrate the base and begin to interrogate a few Hyra agents in order to get the whereabouts of the Senator. The Senator is rescued from the compound and returned to the carrier. While Cap and Diamondback are resting, Col Nick Fury and the Senator reveal in their conversation that the whole thing was a publicity stunt. It was orcestrated to help the Senator get his parties nomination and eventually more votes in the up-and-coming presidential election.

As they are dropped off near their homes, Diamondback enters to report to her boss...the Red Skull!
