dickieswift's Captain America: Reborn #4 review

    Saw it coming.

To be honest, I was a bit underwhelmed with issue 4. I'm a rather new fan of Captain America comics, having read the entire Brubaker run over a weekend, and have been waiting for these Reborn instalments quite impatiently. After an annoying delay on #4, we finally get the issue in early November.

The comic starts out very entertaining. To be honest, the entire comic could have been Red Skull and his posse bickering with Doom & Co and I would have probably enjoyed it more. However, the inevitable end result of the comic (fluff aside), is what I assumed would happen. As we all know,

, and while this issue of Reborn had the most plot development of the mini so far, nothing that happened within it will likely stay permanent.

With that said, I thought Hitch's art was amazing, but I was disappointed he seemed to put more detail into a one-page of Baron Zemo (was it necessary?) instead of Cap, Sharon, or even Red Skull.

All in all, this was a solid issue, Brubaker loosened up some writing his villains (the highlight of the book for me), and some people won't be happy with the Cap development. This comic explains why there needs to be six issues instead of the original 5 for sure.

Gene Colon's #601 should have been a one-shot or an annual.... the Bucky as Cap'n never seems to have really caught.  The Reborn miniseries seems like its being released at a snail's pace and I am forgetting that Captain America is a book on my pull list.   This issue was okay - finally some answers from t...
