Reading Captain America Reborn #2 is a little frustrating. Sometimes, if the writers are going to write a graphic novel, they need to go straight to the graphic novel.

While this story is interesting—it is taking too long to tell that story, which is made of many parts. Did the writers bite more off than they could chew? I don’t think so—but the back and forth between Steve Rogers in 1944 (literally bouncing around the 1940’s) and Bucky Barnes in the present gets a little crazy. The back and forth doesn’t allow this reader time to adjust between the two. ( more...)

the current Captain and Black Widow, end up getting trounced by the combined efforts of the Dark Avengers and about fifty or so HAMMER storm troopers  and are only kept alive because he has use of them. right now norman osbourne (green goblin/iron patriot) is the biggest villain in the world of comics, right now far more dangerous than Joker, (I should know i am a huge batman fan). Hitch and guice's work in this limited series make it look realistic just as much as alex ross's art is. definatly read this and you have to get it with the cassady cover i mean that looks so cool

In Superman #22 Smallville is roughly destroyed until Superman and Supergirl kill quex-ul, general, and krypton.
This is a so-so comic book because it is pretty short but good. i think that everyone that reads it will enjoy it.
Now lets get into the details. i like the part in the book when Superman fights Quex-ul and uses gold kryptonite to blast and remove Quex-ul's powers for a little bit, but not forever. Then General and Krypton attack Supergirl and use their heat vision and distort her to her protomatter state.
Then Quex-ul and the other guys start beating up Superman. But obviously Superman is the man of steel so it doesn't hurt him. When they all walk away Superman pulls out the gold kryptonite and blasts them annd and unlike the time he used it on Quex-ul it actually made their powers dissapear. Which is the cool part.
Finally Superman finds Supergirl in her portomatter state and brings her back to Smallville (reappeared when the 3 goons died). He brings her to his pa and tells him to take care of her until she regenerates into the human state.
After he has a big discussion with his pa and ma he just flies away. Thats what i did not understand about this comic book. They just make him fly away, i would have at least made Superman say "im gonna go fight crime", or something like that.
So if you ask me to rate this from 1-5 stars i would give it a 4 because it is so-so but has good detail especially because it was written by John Byrne and drawn by Petra Scotese. So if you want this you can get it at any local comic book shop for 5.00 Dollars or under.

It's true. After #1, I wasn't expecting much from #2, but the characters are tying in together nicely.

Steve is trapped in re-living his past, jumping from moment to moment (kind of like Quantum Leap actually), but without being able to act for fear of changing the future. In the present, Bucky Cap & Black Widow are captured by the Dark Avengers and Osborn. Norman Osborn is a key player in this series, as it seems he wants Captain America back as much as our heroes (if only for his own twisted purposes) but has more resources to pull it off. I think this title will only continue to improve, just that I’m not that crazy about Hitch’s art work.
