    Spikey reception

Okay, so let me set the record straight for a moment.

I do actually, in fact, like comics. I read them every day. I watch comic news sites, and my clever phone is full of programs that allow me to know things, speak to creators and read them. However, I find that most recently, comics that capture my attention are either unintentionally terrible, or not superhero comics.

Sadly, this comic falls into unnecessary racism, and thus, category one. The thing that strikes me about this issue, is not the slightly off kilter "trying to make Sam Wilson into the ghetto type, barap barap", or the weird random deviations in language. We get Sam talking like a normal person, a clever person who understands conversation, language and how not to be crap mixed in with little gems like this "I just don't know this place no more." Incidentally, Sam used to be in a Gang! Ghetto wheeler dealer called Snap. This is cool. I think this means that now the only Black character in Marvel is the Black Panther who HASN'T been in a gang at some point and involved in some really crap and cheesy gang names.

Snap. Seriously. Did he run around with crackle and pop and mug tony the tiger? (Or should that be Charlie.) So, some bird from Falcons past tries to get him to help find her Son, who has...Fallen in with a gang. Using his Falcon abilities and his Falcon Punch. (I jest. Wrong genre.) he decides being the Falcon ain't never gonna find no jive turkey kid, so he dons his red jacket and nice trousers and goes out to be proper boo. He gets a gun pulled on him, and we find out that kid he's looking for got sent to a gangtas house for a hit or something. He got shivved up well bad and is sent to l'hoptial. Then he gets saved, doesn't die and Sam makes him meet him at his Fathers house. It's all great and that, and maybe, just Maybe sam turned this kid around.

Rob William's is a good writer. He is an Englishman as far as I am aware, and thus, that makes him made of shining brilliance and joy. This comic, however, is made of dead trees and it shows. This tree is dead. It has been for a while, despite having the awesomness of Rebekah Isaacs jetted over it and smeared in wonderful colour, it's still just lifeless and a tad insulting. Please, can we have less stories that involved "And the moral is...if you fall in with the wrong crowd, just say you don't want to be friends with them anymore...They'll accept it and maybe they can come over on Wednesdays and play boggle."

3 Stars for me liking Rob, Rekekah, and Falcon using Pigeons to crap on Grey Gargoyle. That bit was good.
