    Captain America #610

Captain America » Captain America #610 - No Escape Conclusion; Welcome Home Conclusion released by Marvel on November 1, 2010.

    Short summary describing this issue.

No Escape Conclusion; Welcome Home Conclusion last edited by ghostgrifter on 08/10/21 01:18PM View full history

Zemo has captured Bucky and is taking him to his father's island in the English Channel. There Zemo has plans to torment the former Winter Soldier with memories from his past. While Steve Roders, Black Widow and Falcon try to figure out where Bucky has been taken, Bucky is fighting for his life against Zemo's foot soldiers.

In Nomad's episode, there is some reconciliation between Rikki and Steve. Nothing that a few good lanes at the bowling alley can't fix.

It's the grand finale - the showdown between Zemo and Bucky Barnes, and even if Bucky can survive a second trip to Zemo's island his world will never be the same after what Helmut Zemo has done to it. Plus a NOMAD back-up by Sean McKeever & Filipe Andrade

Ed Brubaker run in Captain America is probably his best work and I dare say it´s the best writing of the spangled heroe ever. The Story - It´s the final strike of Zemo´s against Bucky, who was not content in dropping our heroe in mid air to fall in a rocky shore with raging waters, just showed to us a little of his twisted mind (and a little like an oxymoron): he has leaded Bucky towards the same island where he was presumably dead, trying to disable the bomb in the airplane. Stripped of his sh...

In this issue we have a wrap up to the storyline that has been going on for a few issues now.  Bucky has been taken by Zemo to the island in the English Channel that was Bucky's downfall in the past.  Zemo spends some time trying to torment Bucky with memories of the past.  Not necessarily trying to kill Bucky, but toy with his mind.  I like this issue, quite a bit.  Bucky is forced to face some of the wrongs he's done as Winter Soldier and we wonder if there is an atonement coming in the future...

And its about to get worse. 0

Finally, the end of the most exciting duel between Bucky and Baron Zemo, but how did the ending handled itself? And did Brubaker pull off another Captain America event? With Zemo coming back as a baddie after playing hero for awhile, it was nice to see Zemo display himself much more better as a serious original villain as we see him not fully accepting Bucky being the new Captain America. But before I go into detail, lets see if the Captain America No Escape Hardcover is worth the money and that...
