So NOT worth the hype 1
There is literally one panel in this entire thick issue that is worth getting excited about. Sharon Carter holding the gun that "killed" Captain America. Other than that, there are some nice revisited stories. I particularly enjoyed the one that didn't involve Steve Rogers; it's about Patriot bumping into Ricki Barnes. As two youngsters donning the red, white, and blue, they are fresh and intriguing. I wouldn't mind a team up of the two of them away from Young Avengers....

Not the greatest issue i've ever read but i dug it none the less. Its pretty interesting seeing what those players that had a hand in Cap's death are doing a year after he was slain. Best part: Sentry saying how deserving Steves vigil is which of course upsets the iron doush himself. I don;t really get what part the "other Steve" will play or the Barnes girl (how did she get there anyway). Basically a descent issue but the last frame made me feel like a kid with adhd after a cup of espresso even...

Quality Issue - Super Long 0
Okay, so I read this and it took like FOREVER to read. I don't know how many pages this is, but frankly the back-up stories were not worth my time. Two things that I think this book needed, 1: better format. Brubaker's individual stories all got their own titles on the top but the backup stories did not and I didn't understand why and overall, the format just could have been more cohesive. 2: more reader-friendlyness. Choppy and Confusing? 0
This issue felt very choppy to me. It seemed as soon as a story would get started, it ended on the next page. It was difficult for me to get into the individual stories. I realize this issue is a transition type story... well, I should say, I think that's what it was going for. Where are these characters a year after the Cap "died". As someone getting back into comics, and trying to jump into the Cap series, this was terribly confusing and annoying that it seemed broken up and unconnected...
