    Escape from Dimension Z

Talk about a love it or hate it series. I personally dig it. I could see how someone could hate it though. At least it is trying something different.

Last issue Cap and son get captured by a group of monsters, led by Tyrant Phrox. This group mistake our heroic duo for agents of Zola. But thanks to some Pym technology, Cap is able to communicate with these creatures, and convinces them they are all fighting against the same enemy. Of course Cap has to break his own arm to save the child from getting his neck broken, before this happens. Something weird is going on with Zola's other child.

We also get a flashback to Zola's twisted experiments back when he had a real body. The other flashback is with a young Steve Rodgers trying to impress a girl and save a friend.

The ending of the book is shocking, and explains something that happened with issue 1.

This series is a good book, but it also very grim. Cap is in bad shape. He needs to get out of Dimension Z, and get out fast. I could kind of see it as a PG-13 Heavy Metal world. I hope that it eventually doesn't get tiring.

I also wish this book hadn't jumped a year into the future, but what can you do.

The AR on this book gives us a short interview with artist John Romita Jr and the cover gives you a recap of the previous issue.

I like how this is a fresh feel for Captain America, but I think this book should be $2.99. It's not a real deep book.

You have to admire someone's skills to completely turn over the table at the end of issues as Remender is doing in this series: after the thrilling last page of issue #2, this issue also ends with a crazy, revolting and ugly end. But was this issue good enough to justify such an amazing last page? Unfortunately not! I totally understand what Remender is doing in this story: he's creating a parallel between Captain America's values, virtues, fears and past, what he live as a boy, with his "son" I...

      Heart of the action 0

The good: As soon as the issue starts, we are right in the heart of the action. Remender is creating a series filled with adventurous elements and action sequences that are not left out in this issue. In this particular one, Cap makes some allies. Some creatures of the group accept him, but others feel the alliance unnecessary which brings Steve do have to defend himself yet again. It's going to be interesting to see where that union goes in the series. What's really good about the issue is how ...
