    Nuke em'!

You know it really saddens me that Rick didn't start with this arc, because Dimension Z was seriously weak as a story arc, and despite his abysmal writing on uncanny avengers this new arc of captain america was actually fairly strong, a bit overstretched but nonetheless enjoyable ,I have some gripes, but it was a solid read IMO.

First and foremost my main interest is directed towards this new interesting villain Ricks been developing called the Iron nail, who's main goal is to oppose the american dream and overthrow the government, and make people suffer while doing so. I have to admit that Remender has done a good job in making this new villain not only interesting but also tying him to a concept that would suit captain america pretty darn well. Plus I don't understand the full extent of his powers so I'm interested in what he has to offer as opposed to Nuke, who in general is just a major powerhouse.

Speaking of which, the opposition between nuke and captain america, on a thematic level was actually pretty good, both of them are soldiers, and they are essentially following orders. Difference is that Nuke is doing far more damage instead of honoring the names of his fallen comrades, he has basically initiated a brutal cycle which will continue in warfare, most likely resulting in more lose and pain. I loved the fact that Steve decided to talk his way out of the fight, because he doesn't think with fists, he is the beacon of hope who inspires everyone around him, unfortunately, that does him no good against a stubborn, delusional powerhouse who could trample a tree with ease.

Moreover, the actual fight between Nuke and captain america was amazing, you could feel that cap was clearly outmatched by nuke through physical means, and the artist really went wild with the fight scenes, because they were brilliantly executed. The colors were flashy and the battle was very brutal. However, one minor gripe here, Nuke obviously dominates cap easily, even going so far as to grab his shield with his damn teeth, so how is it that he managed to out muscle nuke? Anger clearly wasn't doing him any good, so why did it help him later on? It was cool but it's a minor gripe.

However, there was one major event I didn't understand, why the hell did the Journalist publish a picture of Captain america shaking nukes hand? She clearly saw that he was trying to reason with him, hell Cap even tried protecting her from Nuke, so this left me a little bit baffled, because there isn't any truth behind that picture, maybe I'm not understanding something, but it threw me off.

Overall, this was a solid arc, not out of the ordinary, but solid.

    Recommendation: yes!
