The woman named Calypso has a history shrouded in mystery. She was the lover and partner of Kraven until he met his demise, and she carries on his hate for Spider-Man.
I read somewhere that she will be appearing. I'm VERY excited about this. I don't think she's used enough. Hopefully, they will keep her magic, and not make her as poorly as the 90's animated series did.
@White Mage: I think the 90's animated series just wanted to make her more realistic, but Calypso is a character of mystery not a mutae of ferocity, so I can see where the problem is. I know some people think that Spider-Man should be pitted against the supernatural in small doses, (At BEST!) but some characters are so interesting that it's sometimes hard NOT to have them be a part of Spidey's life, Calypso is one of them.
