    Calendar Man

Character » Calendar Man appears in 211 issues.

Calendar Man is known for committing crimes that relate to holidays, and significant dates. He is fascinated by dates and calendars; even his real name is a pun on the Julian and Gregorian calendars. He used to be thought of as a joke but has gotten more serious in some issues.

    Short summary describing this character.

Detective Comics #259 - The Calendar Man (1958) - The first appearance of Calendar Man, featuring a very different costume to what he wears in later appearances.

Batman #312 (1979) - Calendar man returns to commit a crime a day in this enjoyable one-shot.

Batman #384 - Broken Dates (1985) - In this one-shot, Calendar Man is hired to kill Batman.

The Long Halloween (1996/1997) - This Batman classic gave us a radically different Calendar Man. In these 2 stories he's presented as a Hannibal-Lecter esque killer with the months of the year tattooed on his head.

Batman 80-Page Giant #3 - A Month of Sundays (2000) - A fun story centering around Calendar Man exacting revenge on the dynamic duo for making him spend the turn of the millennium in a prison cell.

Batman 80-Page Giant 2010 #1 (2010) - A short but sweet storyline which presents Julian Day's obsession with dates as a compulsive disorder.

Channel 52 (2013) - In this, Julian Day is depicted as an anchor of the superhero news channel, Channel 52.

Detective Comics Annual #3 (2014) - This issue doesn't really do much for Calendar Man, but if you want to read more of his modern day issues, then you should read this.

Batman: Rebirth #1 (2016) - This issue introduces a really interesting concept of Julian Day having to die and be reborn throughout the seasons.
