Can The X-Men Survive The Return Of Cable?
Their story, Cable: The Long Way Home will run as interconnected short stories (appearing as bonus content) in Psylocke #1, Dark X-Men #1, X-Men Legacy #230 and X-Force #22. This is said to be "the most shocking change to the X-Men you can imagine." Will Hope save or damn mutantkind?
Psylocke #1 is on sale November 11, 2009. It's written by Chris Yost with art by Harvey Tolibao (and a cover by David Finch). Dark X-Men #1 (of 5) is on sale the same day. Written by Paul Cornell with art by Leonard Kirk (and a cover by Simone Bianchi.
" Cable is a fad from the early 90s and he should stay there. "@pixelized said:
" How do people like him??? He's been boring since he swept up my new mutants and called them x-force "I have to politely disagree. I think they have taken a character who was just a typical Liefield guy with guns and a bionic arm and lots of pouches, and made a worthwhile character out of him.
"@Stealthfart: Who is Mimic? I've never heard of him. I always get confused with Angel. Sometimes I see him back as Angel then I see him back as Archangel, it's like they can't make up their minds. "
Mimic is a enemy of the X-Men who can mimic other mutants powers but has the powers of the 5 original X-Men: Beast, Angel, Iceman, Cyclops, & Jean Grey & he's a former X-Men & nutcase
let see the most shocking thing that I can think off when they return back.
(to those who haven't read cable issue) is that hope is almost a teenager that haven't manfist her power yet.
and the start of Messiah Damniation (makeing that up no clue what there going to call it)
and Apocalypse will return with Strfey body.
I am curious about how old Hope will be when she returns to the standard time line.
Though, out of all of this. I want to see what Mystique does. I found it interesting that she had to be forced under threat of exploding. Mystique isn't one that likes to be forced to do anything.
I'd just like to say that I really appreciate them doing this as back-up stories instead of its own series/full-blown crossover. This will probably get me to buy Dark X-Men, which I was on the fence about. Looking forward to this and Necrosha. I haven't been buying the craptastic Utopia crossover, and these two events seem like a promising turn for the X books.

Hmmm...where have I heard that before?
Oh yes, that's right, they say that everytime.
Just to put it out there, I can imagine some awfully shocking possible changes!
Odd that there's going to be tie-in mini stories in titles that aren't really connected. I mean, Psylocke is a mini series so it's unusual to squeeze something like this in if it is unrelated to her character. So I wonder if Betsy will play a larger role in the final Messiah chapter...
Or if it is just a ploy to get people to buy other titles they wouldn't normally touch. I mean, it's not convincing me to buy Dark X-Men :p
" @pixelized: Soldier-X was cool. And you hold almost 20 year grudges against "Fictional Characters (with hand quotation marks also added). Cable is Nintendo Generation OG. Live with it. "I like that your liking of the character comes in the form of his canceled 12 issue series... not like the one that ran for 100+ issues... wonder why...
I'm not crazy when they do these random multi-part back up features. With all the comics I buy, sometimes they get out of order and then I have to try to find the next part. Basically, I need a better filing system. You would think this would be worthy of its own mini series. Being pushed into the back of random X-comics doesn't fill me with loads of confidence. Regardless, I will do my best to keep up with it all.
"Who's the guy of to the right in the picture with Beast, Angel, and Mystique??? "
Weapon Omega - the nice gentleman who picked up the massive amount of post M-Day energy. And it's actually not Angel, it's Mimic (a character who permanently possesses the powers of the original X-Men).

not really feeling anything. Cable is returning? so what. he never really left because his book was ongoing the whole time anyways, and it half the time featured other X-Men, either in his time line or theirs. if theyre finally going to put a close to the whole Manifest/Messiah ect ongoing arc to arc that just doesnt seem to end then im excited for that. im a Cable fan from the start, but this run has not been my favorite at all. id like to see more self contained stories again, and less defendant on whatever x-arc.
the Psylocke book is of course something to look foreward to.
