The once-mysterious Cable (a.k.a. Nathan Summers) is Cyclops' time-traveling son who was infected with the deadly techno-organic virus during his infancy, which he keeps at bay using his advanced psionic powers. At one time a founding member and leader of the militant team called X-Force, previously known as the New Mutants, Cable takes the aimless youths under his wing and whips them into fighting shape in order to prepare them for future threats.
I just don't get what's going on. Or why more isn't. It seems like big things should be happening. Who's still reading this? Does anyone think Bishop is just so out of character? Why hasn't he been this...angry when he first came on the scene?
I don't mind the series. Its supposed to be desolate and dull. As for Bishop, I think he is reacting like that because he's seen one future timeline (his) and doesn't want it to happen. Its building to Messiah War.
I don't think the series is that bad but I do think it can be better. This past issue was pretty bad and the art didn't help it one bit. Hopefully it picks up with the Messiah War coming up
When Cable was "introduced" way back when, that's when X-Men jumped the shark. I'd been reading and collecting X-Men, New Mutants, X-Factor, etc. up until then. At that point, with Cable, I thought "huh?" I will be honest and say I haven't picked up an X-Men since that time. The writing was done so poorly, so crappy, that I gave up on X-Men. Looks like nothing has changed.

Really you liked the art? Olivetti's style is not really my cup of tea he makes Cable look old like Clint Eastwood in Gran Tarino but is was better then the middle of the book IMO

OMG are you dudes kidding me??!! Areil Olivetti is like my fav artist. The only thing I hated about this comic was that he didnt draw the whole thing! Oh man, I cant believe my eyes when I read this stuff. This is like my fav series.... Although I agree nothing is really happening right now..... Its still way sweet....

hey man as long as they make a Cable book I will buy it and im not knocking Olivetti Im just saying his style doesn't suit my taste

I like Olivetti's art, just not for the whole comic book. Maybe just the covers.
She does, she looks too old, too mature to be 7. Very Creepy"
Then again, you have to consider since she was a baby, people have been getting killed around her. That might make you grow up a little faster than you should.

Yeah, it's 4.18-ish years that Cable's been doing his narration. There was a tiny bit of time before he took off in Messiah Complex so I don't know if that count refers strictly to her age or just the time he decided to start counting.
I actually noticed the disparity in the days he had counted and the age that Hope said when I read it too. I assumed that Cable was counting days he's been on the run from the roach people and not Bishop.
And, I don't think her hair is that bad, but she does look a little older than 7, maybe 12-ish.
