If you're familiar with The Goon and the works of Eric Powell, you know that his art alone creates a unique world of characters. In this mini-series the focus shifts to the mysterious Buzzard after his recent run-in with the Zombie Priest.

The Good

The art alone can tell its own story. Combined with the color and imagery, it almost takes your breath away.

We start to see Buzzard searching for who he is after hunting the Zombie Priest for so many years. In trying to find a new path and find out who he is, he comes across a village filled with the type of problems you'd expect and want in this book.

There's also a bonus story by Eric Powell and Kyle Hotz.

The Bad

If you haven't read The Goon, the story itself might not be overly compelling. But fans of The Goon and Eric Powell will have no problem getting into this. Fans looking for The Goon to make an appearance will be disappointed.

The Verdict - 4.5/5

It's an interesting choice to give Buzzard his own mini-series. Normally I'm not a fan of those that only last three issues. In this case, because Powell's art can convey so much, I feel like this might be just the right amount. There isn't a lot that is known about him and I can't wait to see where this adventure will take him. I did like that The Goon did not make an appearance here. Buzzard can carry his own book and it's enough that The Goon's name is on the cover. I simply can't get enough of Eric Powell's art and I'm already eagerly waiting for the next issue.

The back up story was nice and does end in a cliffhanger. For me, it's all about Buzzard.

I love Eric Powell. People should try to track down both issues of Chimichanga as well. It's put out by Eric's label, Albatross Exploding Funny Books.

Oh, cool. Looks like my idea of adding samples from the interiors has bore fruit. Though, even I wasn't expecting to see so much.
I like the cover image, but there was no guaranty the interior was going to keep the style or quality.

I'd never heard of the series before, but it looks pretty appealing. I kind of like how the color work feels slightly washed out.

@G-Man:
**bashful** Thanks.

It looks pretty cool. I like it that the character isn't some classic pretty boy. It's a unique style that gives me a sort of visual appear I got from Hellboy.
The character's appearance on a dead looking horse reminds me of a character from One Piece. Q. Doc , the doctor of  Blackbeard's pirate crew. Both him and his horse always look like they are ready to fall over dead.

I almost picked this up yesterday. Been awhile since I've read any Goon stuff. Really is a beautiful book.
