Dawn
First meeting: Unknown

When we were first introduced to the Buffy character, she was an only child and she remained that way for quite a while. However, Dawn, Buffy’s sister was suddenly introduced into the Buffyverse. She was not born a baby girl; in fact she's supposed to be just a few years younger than Buffy. Later it was revealed that Dawn is not in fact a normal human being, but a physical shape given to a mystical device called “the key”. This key is supposed to be a catalyzer that enables the bridge between dimensions. A group of wise monks created the human form of Dawn to hide the Key from the reach of Glory (an evil goddess) who was trying to create an entryway to her home dimension. If she succeeded in creating this portal then the structures that separate earth from hellish universes would be torn down resulting in the destruction of reality as we know it. Of course, Buffy stops this from happening, but sacrifices herself in the process.

Faith
First meeting: Unknown

When a Slayer dies, one potential Slayer becomes The Slayer. There isn't supposed to be more than one Slayer at any given moment. However, since Buffy died and resurrected, a second Slayer came into play. Kendra coexisted with Buffy and when she passed away, Faith became a Slayer.

Giles
First meeting: Unknown

Rupert Giles is a Watcher that the Council assigned to work with Buffy after the death of Merrick. He first met Buffy at the school's library where he was working as a librarian. He recognized her as the Slayer and presented her with a book on vampires that she quickly rejected then fleeing the scene. As Buffy wanted to leave her life as a Slayer behind her, she was reluctant to taking Giles as her Watcher, especially with the death of Merrick still fresh in her memory. Nevertheless the Watcher was constant and kept insisting until Buffy finally decided to accept her destiny as the Slayer.

Spike
First meeting: Unknown

Quite a popular character in the Buffyverse is the vampire formerly known as William the Bloody. He even got his own comic book. The name “Spike” is actually a nickname inspired in one of the forms of torture preferred by the vampire. He would use railroad spikes to prick his victims with, bleeding for hours before killing them. Spike first became friends with Buffy when the government put a chip in his head which wouldn't allow hiim to harm humans. Later, Spike fought to get his soul that Buffy could love him, and sacrificed himself to destroy Sunnydale

Wesley
First meeting: Unknown

Wesley was a British former watcher and, later, member of Angel Investigations. Wesley was killed trying to kill a powerful demon, and is now a reluctant spiritual employee of Wolfram & Hart.

Willow
First meeting: Unknown

When Buffy first met Willow she could have been described as a sweet, self conscious and often nervous girl. She would exhibit low self esteem and sometimes she’d let people push her around. Willow plays a very important role in Buffy’s life. She, along with Xander, became the Slayer’s first friends when she arrived at Sunnydale and they have remained her best friends ever since. Also, during the course of their friendship Willow has come a long way from being a modest helper who did some research for Buffy and sometimes quite frankly just a nuisance (Buffy having to help her out of trouble constantly), to becoming a very powerful witch and thus a formidable ally.

Xander
First meeting: Unknown

Always backing Buffy up, one of her closest and dearest friends, Alexander “Xander” Harris has been there from the beginning of the Slayer's adventures in Sunnydale. His goofy and cheerful personality along with his endless loyalty to his friends, earned Xander a special place in Buffy's heart. However there was never a romantic relationship between the two even though Xander was very much into Buffy during the first years.
