Unnecessary
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Orgin purports to be a more faithful adaptation of Joss Whedon's original screenplay for the 1992 film Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However, the first issue at least doesn't vary much from the movie at all. Aside from the visual depiction of several characters (made to be more in line with the TV cast and look), and one very minor character, the first issue of The Origin doesn't really do much different from the movie. In fact it's not quite as good as the movie when you consider that some of the best lines were ad libbed by the actors. Given that the art here isn't really anything to write home about - the whole thing comes across as unnecessary but inoffensive.
