    In 1973 BSV Williams imprint Williams Verlag took up the license to reprint Marvel comics for the German market, something that other publishers had only done piecemeal, and in January 1974 they launched a line on Marvel titles, including Das Monster von Frankenstein, Die Fantastichen Vier, Der Gewaltige Hulk, Planet der Affen, Die Rächer, Die tödlichen Hände des Kung Fu, Der Mächtige Thor, Doktor Strange der Magier and Der Eiserne. By 1979 poor sales convinced Williams Verlag to drop their license, which was picked up by Condor and other German publishers.
