The main character from 300 could easily capture the Action Film market. The problem is many of todays great/good actors don't stick to one genre. Will Smith makes alot of good action films but he's not exclusively an action star, same with Brad Bitt, and the fore mentioned 300 guy (he was also in one of the Tomb Raider movies)

I'm gonna say Mark Wielhberg is todays great action star, Russel Crowe is up there to.

Actually, Gerard Butler got 2007 Action Star of the Year award for his role as Leonidas in "300".

Mark Wahlberg was great in The Departed and The Shooter. In both films, he was the last man standing.

Yeah but I'm talking about overall body of work. His last movie he played some dead guy in a Romance flick. Bruce Lee was steady Action films. Thats what I meant.

He died nearly 6 years before I was born and I'm ancient. In the last 35 years there have been lots of great action movies and stars. Of course none of them took his place, but he filled a unique place in action/martial arts movies.
