Brown Watson was a British publisher who began producing hardcover TV tie-in annuals in 1974. With their content a mixture of features, illustrated text stories and comic strips, they usually commissioned new stories from British creators including Ian Gibson, John Bolton, Desmond Walduck, Steve Moore and David Lloyd, though they also sometimes translated and reprinted licensed strips from other European licensees. Among the shows they produced annuals for were Kung-Fu, The New Avengers, The Sweeney, The Professionals, Dick Barton Special Agent, The Muppet Show, Planet of the Apes, The Magician, Gemini Man, Logan's Run, The Bionic Woman and Tarzan. They also held licenses from Hanna Barbera for Boss Cat and Hong Kong Phooey, Dastardly and Muttley and Friends, The Funky Phantom, The Great Grape Ape and Boss Cat, The Harlem Globetrotters, Inch High Private Eye and Wacky Races, as well as for other properties such as Batman and Robin, Superman, Laurel and Hardy, Pink Panther, Popeye and Star Wars - in some of these cases, rather than commission new material, existing material from other licensees (such as Marvel's Star Wars comic) was repackaged to fit the annual.

In 1979 Brown Watson bosses Peter and Brian Babani left to found Grandreams, taking most of the licenses with them. There's still a Brown Watson publishing company in the UK, but their site lists them as producing children's books and founding in 1980, so presumably they are not the same company, which suggests the annual publishing Brown Watson shut up shop after the Babani's left.
