    Good God

Firstly, lets talk about Constantine in the DCU. Apparently, he now appears to be their Stereofact character. I've never actually read as much "English" slang in a comicbook before, and it's painfully obvious that Vankin is America. If he isn't then I stand corrected, but it strikes me that...wow. He is really american. We've got things and words like "Ruck" and basically, every sentence is designed to remind the reader that yes, Constantine is English, and no, no he isn't America.

It gets half a star because I couldn't actually read this comic. I skimmed it, barely, because I found the dialogue SO jarring, SO false it removed any relatability and connection to the comic itself, or the character. I think if Constantine is played this way through the DCU then he really will die a death, because nobody will want to read him, and he'll be turned into a low rate crap magician who fights crime with Batman. Honestly, this is probably up there with the Draco in terms of being really very, very bad. Don't read unless you REALLY, REALLY have to be a Swamp Thing/Constantine completeist. Even then, put it on your shelf and ignored.

With Flashpoint and the 52 #1 issues coming out in September it seems that Brightest Day was just swept under the rug. So I was hoping this was ...

Officially the lowest scored comic I gave with John in it. 0

Disclaimer:This review is late... a month or so because I really couldn't bring myself to reread the issue, I hated it so much. I gave it a thumb here and there to jog my memory, but so much I want to forget.  This review may seem bias because I am the biggest John Constantine fan out there, so if you liked the comic, then good for you, one thing is for sure I have read more of John Constantine's life then most and my understanding of the character is second to none, so if you disagree with m...
