Black Manta, you ARE the father! 4

Jackson Hyde. Black Manta. Green Arrow. Martian Manhunter. Deadman (Not really). These people have played a growing vital role in Brightest Day, which its core story keeps unraveling some very interesting secrets that increases the appeal of this book exponentially. Can this issue deliver a strong showing as it reaches #9? Or will it falter in its efforts? Hop on board with a pack of Chocos and join me as I review Brightest Day #9.  The Good  I... Am... AQUALAD! The story begins as it did li...

Art so good I thought it was raining 0

This issue of Brightest Day continues the search for Aqua-Lad and we even get reunited with Black Manta!  The art in this issue was incredible.  Specifically the rain.  But there were also some other incredible, dryer scenes as well.  I wasn't really that thrilled with the exchange between Martian Manhunter and Green Arrow.  But it made for an interesting few pages.  I REALLY want to see what happens in issue #10.  It looks like Aqua-lad is in trouble...  If you liked the last issue with Hawk Wo...

I'm So Glad This Series Exists 0

The Good: A Martian Manhunter heavy issue, which is a great thing in my book because he's by far one of my all time favorite characters in the DCU. Green Arrow looks really nice in this issue. His arrows especially and the perspective on them. Patrick Gleason would make an excellent artist for Green Arrow somewhere down the road. A little more info on our upcoming new Aqualad. Also, there was a nice little touch of character development with him that was well done, short, and to the point. The E...

Brightest Day Has Gotten Better 0

Aquaman and Martian Manhunter's story plots take the stage this issue, and Brightest Day continues to power along thanks to the second wind it received back in issue 7.  Aqualad quickly becomes more than the random new kid of the Aqua family as it's revealed he has connections buried deep into Aquaman's mythos. It's a surprising twist that bodes well for the character's future in the DCU.  Martian Manhunter's experience in Star City is strange and confusing. I also have to admit to not being sol...

Only you can prevent forest fire's but there isn't one. 0

The 9th issue of Brightest Day.  The Story :We start with Boston and Dove appearing in front of Aquaman and Mera.Where Boston explains what we saw in issue 7 to Arthur and it seems Mera knows about kid from Aquamans vision.Speaking of Jackson it seems he shows powers of controlling water like Mera does and is pentting up his powers and the reasons he's pentting it up because his parents don't want him to be hurt. Then we cut to J'onn arriving in Ollie's forest and starting to "Hulkout" for lack o...

A confusing filler for Brightest Day. 0

Story: The story starts off with Aquaman and Mera swimming underwater. They are talking about the vision he received from the white lantern. The vision was of the new aqualad and Mera is about to tell Arthur who he is but before she can Boston and Dawn appear under water. Boston is surprised and wants to know why the lantern took him under water. Boston and Dawn fill Mera and Arthur in on what they know about what's going on with the 12 resurrected and the white lantern. Arthur says that they ha...

    Brightest Day #9 0

SummaryThis is primarily a Martian Manhunter story, with a few asides here and there. After seeing the vision of the burning forest, Martian Manhunter visits the Star City Forest in hope of answers. Upon Arrival, however, he gets more than he bargained for when his shape-shifting and psychic powers turn on him. What I liked· The Visions: The visions which the chosen-twelve had in Brightest Day #7 are actually mentioned in this issue. Brightest Day #8 gave little insight into what the characters a...
