    Aquawar, Part 2

Brightest Day nears its end as Aquawar rages on.

The Good: A quick look at the cover before anything. I love it. I believe Gary Frank did the regular one, I could be wrong, but it looks really good. From the coloring to all of the details, amazing. Now then, we get more Aquaman. This entire issue focuses on what was going on between Aquaman, Aqualad and Black Manta. I have really been enjoying Aquaman's story since Brightest Day started and this one was a good one, filled with action. We also get a bit of Deadman and his struggle with the White Lantern ring, and let me just say that where this issue leaves off, you'll want to pick up the next one.

The Bad: While I am excited to see where things go, this issue's pacing was a bit rushed for me. Everything seemed to happen so quick. From when Aquaman got his hand cut off, to the resolution, which I didn't quite get how Jackson knew he could do what he did. Throughout this series we've had multiple artists on each book. However, this issue really seemed kind of off for me because it seemed as if the parts Joe Prato worked on weren't as good as Reis', and they weren't colored as well in my opinion. Those panels seemed dull enough for me.

Brightest Day is coming to a close in four issues. I still have no idea how this will all end, but I am excited. This issue wasn't perfect but it was enjoyable. I am slightly concerned that this event won't live up to everything it is said to be. I do have high hopes and I have faith in the team working on it.

Aquawar comes to an end, concluding what has easily been the best of the Brightest Day series' storylines. Also, the Entity continues to be a jerk.  Quite possibly, this series just peaked with the action-packed finale of Aquawar, because this will be hard to top. The action is well done with a few big moments that play off in a great way. Mera's big moment is an especially great one as she shows just how powerful she is. Aquagirl even joins in the fight, which is a treat after fearing she was b...

If there's one thing that is consistent, it's that Geoff Johns knows how to rejuvenate heroes. From Hal Jordan to Barry Allen, from the Justice Society to the Teen Titans, he breathes new life to these characters, and it's becoming more and more evident with Arthur Curry fighting in this Aquawar. Geoff Johns and Peter Tomasi undertake a new chapter in the Aquawar emerging out of Brightest Day #20, to which it manages to amaze... and to infuriate,...
