    My Favorite Martian

The Good: Hooo boy. As a huge fan of Martian Manhunter this issue was set to be fantastic from the start. There's a lot of J'onn, and the plot and dialogue for him are excellent.
We learn D'Kay's backstory and it's actually really interesting. It didn't seem like an ass pull at all, and it even explained everything that's happened with her so far.
The way D'Kay tries to mess with J'onn's head was brilliant, and really well done. It showed us into the heart of J'onn and gave us some good character development.
I'm glad we got to see Deadman again.
The climax and end of the issue were done amazingly. It really exuded a feeling of pure epic, and finished off with a fairly obvious, but still pretty chilling twist.

The Bad: D'kay? That's REALLY cheesy. I mean, it could be cool, but it's just too forced the way it's suddenly revealed here.
Rarely have I ever felt this, and I know plenty of reviewers have mentioned it for scenes, especially on this title, but the thing with Deathstorm seemed really pointless. We hardly learned anything new, we just kind of, saw a few extra seconds after the last issue left off. Deadman's scene was a bit more necessary since we haven't seen him for a bit, but there was also less merit to his single page appearance.
PERSONALLY, I'm fine with this, but I feel bad for Hawkman/Girl. I LOVED the focus being on J'onn, but he got spotlighted in #9 as well. We haven't seen the Hawks once since #8. EVERYONE ELSE has gotten ample focus since then except for the Hawks. But this was J'onn so, to me that's better any day.

    In Conclusion: 5/5
Since this is Brightest Day, your opinions will vary. This series is basically 5 series in one, so not everyone will love every issue. But if you love Martian Manhunter, this issue will blow your mind. If you kind of like Martian Manhunter, this issue will also probably impress you. If you hate him, I dunno if this'll change your mind.

Hell on earth and mars. 0

Story: The issue starts off where we were last left. J'onn has just arrived on mars and there is habitual life of trees, plants, and beautiful nature. He goes into the pyramid and meets D'kay D'razz, the other martian. She wants J'onn to love her but J'onn says that he can never love a murderer. D'kay takes his response bad and starts fighting him in one of the most vicious fights I have ever seen in a comic book. She merges her mind with his to show him her past of how she is actually the first...
