I'll try to not give to much away. In this issue we see Rip Hunter talking to Skeet about Booster Gold's recent disappearance. Also little bonus Rip's has written new things on his blackboard, so check the panel out. We see the rise of Black Lantern Ted "Blue Beetle" Kord & the panel then changes to Booster Gold. You see where/when he is & for myself his inner monolog is so great. It's beautiful and angry at the same time, so I think that is the best thing in this issue. Also we see Rose upset with Daniel Carter for not taking her places she likes. Skeet ask Jaime Reyes the current Blue Beetle if he has seen Booster & he says no, but says he will help in the search. Skeet and Jaime travel to Daniel's house, only to be attacked by Black Lantern Ted Kord. A big fight happens and we see the return of Daniel as Supernova, but again the one character that gets you is Booster Gold. When he sees what is happening and who is the cause of the attack, to me the look on his face is " You have to be kidding me ". I can't wait to read the next issue & if anything will break the heart of Booster Gold. Having to fight & possibly kill Ted Kord will hurt more then anything.

Booster Gold now enters in Blackest Night with the 2 parts story arch "Dead Ted", that, as you can see in the cover unite Booster Gold and Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes) against the Black Lantern Blue Beetle (Ted Kord).
The issue starts out with Rip Hunter's lab, where he says Skeets, that Michael is somewhere in time with no communicator.
We find out that Booster Gold is reviving the funeral of Ted Kord.
Skeets looks for Jaime Reyes for help finding Booster, and they later try to contact to SuperNova to help them.
But Supernova is brutally killed by Blue Beetle. Then Booster Gold arrives and his horrified
It's basically it. I like Booster and Jaime, and still having a big price, it's an enjoyable issue.
It's not necessary for your Blackest Night follow-up but it's a fun read.
    (Better than the Outsiders)
    That's all guys!

I gotta admit, this cover is pretty honest in the sense that it delvers what it's advertising. I enjoyed the issue, the pacing was a bit odd, but in a good way. It starts off like any other blackest night tie in with a character coming back. Truth be told i haven't really cared for most of the characters that came back, but Blue Beetle was something that i was looking forward to. It all starts with recaps of A Black Lantern's history, Hunter, then a look into Booster gold's point of view, then go to Jamie. It also gives you heads a bit of information on their relationship as best bros for life (assuming you didn't catch any of it in any of the other issues or anything with the two). At some point the issue kicks your ass, just BAM and stuff takes off! The whole thing brought a tear in my eye seeing Booster Gold's reaction to his best bud coming back as an emotion themed killing lantern/zombie. It sets up a lot for the next issue, so i'm looking forward to it. wither you're a Booster Gold or Blue Beetle fan pick this up, and enjoy. If you're going to pick up a tie in for Blackest Night, then let it be this one then. Its a good issue when a great writing, and solid art, give it a read.
