Blue Marvel
Character » Blue Marvel appears in 220 issues.
When Adam discovered his super-powers, he fashioned a secret identity with which to protect his country, and became Blue Marvel. He served as a hero for years, and was one of the most popular heroes of his time. Adam was pressured by the government to retire, because of how much power he had and for being black. He was forced out of retirement to face his greatest foe and former best friend, Anti-Man.
will he be back?
Well...he appeared in the updated The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe recently. I'm also hearing rumors that he is appearing in the near future. He also recently appeared in a (???) What If ? where he was whipping the Red Hulk. I heard rumored over at Marvel.com that Marvel was going to focus on only two heavy hitters this year...one is the Sentry and the other, I'm guessing is Thor, because of his upcoming movie next year.
After that, I expect to see more of the Blue Marvel.
I think that he would fit it more with the Heroic Age, they didn't want to bring him into Dark Reign and confuse his story or tie it to that. I would expect the Heroic Age to introduce or re-introduce new and existing characters like Blue Marvel.
"only 2 heavy hitters? is that just on earth? coz what about nova, and i was hoping quasar would get his own book this year. or what about x-man on earth, i thought they were bringing him back for good. not to mention the hulk. and i kinda thought they were gonna kill sentry. "
A moderator from Marvel.com was saying just two heavy hitters this year. Not sure how Marvel alots their resources to handle heavy hitters...but I suspect this guy would know. Of course, that is not good news for me, not only because I'm a big Blue Marvel fan, but I'm an even bigger Silver Surfer fan. He's been in limbo for some time now.

What mission could cause Maria Hill, Sharon Carter, and Victoria Hand, the three Avengers liasons, to join forces? Plus, the Blue Marvel makes his presence known around the world to re-establish himself as a hero of the people. TASKMASTER learns in Tokyo that The Heroic Age is a none too friendly place for villains who have fallen from the top! Plus a nutty, new turning point in the life of Squirrel Girl!
32 PGS./Rated T+ ...$3.99
I really hope Blue Marvel joins the Avengers, he's an awesome character. I'm really looking forward to all of these Age Of Heroes books, they all look great.
"With Sentry, Thor, and now Marvel purchasing Marvel Man, I don't see the need for Blue Marvel. "
You forget Hulk and several others.
There's still room for BM.
He's black. He's in limbo, and that's in line with Marvel standards. If he wasn't so smart, rode a skate board, spoke slang, wasn't so powerful, or so black...then maybe they would use him.
I hope DOES come back- it would ironic if Barack Obama as the US's first African American President asked him to come out of retirement when JFK almost half a century ago pressured him to retire( and all because certain folks couldn't handle the of a black superhero-true, the Black Panther would surface a few years later- but he was African and not African American!).
