Blue Beetle (Reyes)
Character » Blue Beetle (Reyes) appears in 672 issues.
Jaime Reyes was just a regular high school student from El Paso, Texas, until he found the Scarab after Ted Kord lost it. With the Scarab, he has great power and uses that power to protect the innocent as the the third, and current Blue Beetle.
Live Action Blue Beetle Images!
Yesterday we posted how Geoff Johns Tweeted about a possible live-action Blue Beetle TV show. He mentioned that there was a chance of test images going up. Today, he did post images on DC's The Source.
Keep in mind the series is in development. It has not been greenlit yet (or is that greenlighted?). These are just a screen test of what we could expect. These are not final images but you have to admit they look really cool. He says they will bring the short clip to San Diego Comic-Con and will play it at as many DC panels as possible to give everyone a chance to see it.

Again, wow! Thanks for sharing, Geoff!
Is it me or does this remind anyone else of Guyver?
Also I would much rather a Ted Kord Blue Bettle movie.
" Thats one big ass bed bug. Wash your sheets dude. "Lol, some girl he bong home probably left it there.
This show could easily be the next Smallville. And while I do think Jaime Reyes is a good choice for the main Blue Beetle, they should have Ted Kord in the show as the retired Blue Beetle and mentoring Jaime on using the scarab. And it would also be interesting for Jaime to appear on Smallville, that way it could bridge the two shows and familiar faces like Oliver and the rest of the Justice League or Society could appear to lend Jaime a hand once in a while (sorry, Clark, but once Smallville's over, you need to embrace your destiny and move on).
"I'd have much rather had Ted Kord Blue Beetle. "
If they did they would have to have Booster Gold in it.
bring back Ted!! maybe he'll still be alive in this show or something. he could be a mentor and suit up for action every now and then
" @Bearded Justice: That's what I said, but I totally agree with you on Ted Kord in the show and being a mentor "
i think that could really work and would easily warrant me tuning in
You were right at "Greenlit"
That said, im excited for this and im hoping there can be some synergizing with the comics in this. Id love to know more background of the scarab.
Despite the Big Blue getting his own show, it sounds more like that idea for Smallville.
