razzatazz's Blue Beetle #21 - If This Works, It'll Be a Miracle! review

    A miracle delivered

This is not really my favourite era of comics, nor my favourite tone (half-comedic) nor is Blue Beetle one of my favourite character (though Mister Miracle is) but despite all of that I picked up this particular issue recently because I was told that the escape sequence was well handled.  First of all, I have read some of the Millenium issues over the years, and generally don't find it to be the best event style crossover, but it wasn't the worst either.  This one follows a mostly non-related tie-in.  Sure there are Manhunters here, but they could really be any token bad guy for how easily they fall.  As for the escape?  It was also a bit far fetched, though actually decently explained in detail.  The end result is an issue which is pretty typical of the time, not very exciting or well written, but still a sense of innocent and boyish charm comes through.
