Origin

Bitten by Dracula
The Storm of the Earth-1298 reality (Mutant X), is known as Bloodstorm after being bitten by Dracula. Before she was completely turned Kitty Pryde tried to slay her but fell as Storms first victim. She later joins up with fellow thief Gambit possibly as her consort, and takes on a job to steal something from Apocalypse. It is here when she encounters Warren Worthington once known as Angel, now resembling more of a winged demon calling himself Fallen. He first taunts Ororo, before forcing her to expose herself as a vampire to Gambit when he attacks her. Fallen then attacks Gambit, fatally wounding him. Gambit begged Ororo to turn him.
At this time, she reluctantly turned Gambit into a vampire, because he was dying and he begged her to do it no matter what. He ended up hating her for what he becomes. They go their separate ways afterwards.
Creation
Bloodstorm was created by Howard Macky and Tom Rainey and first appeared in Mutant X number 1 from 1998.
Character Evolution
The Six
Ororo later joins up with the Six and takes on the name Bloodstorm. The team consist of a mock of the original X-Men line-up, Havok, Madelyne Pryor, Ice Man, Brute, and Fallen. She also keeps Forge and Kitty, now calling herself Kathrine, as her consorts, and it is inferred that she fed on Forge instead of letting the thirst get the better of her.
The Goblin Queen
Mutant X was originally supposed to be a 13 issue mini-series in which Havok gets his own happy ending, in place of his brother Cyclops. Madelyne Pryor was possessed of the Goblin Force, which is depicted much in the tradition of the Phoenix Force. Once driven mad by it's power Madelyne Pryor becomes the Goblin Queen, first attacking the Six, and controling them. Bloodstorm was one of the first to be attacked, by her hordes of demons. When her castle was attacked Bloodstorm diverted the demons long enough for Kathrine and Forge to escape, though she fell to the Goblin Queen influence. By the end of the short lived inferno, Bloodstorm and the six are returned to normal and Havok along with Scotty (His son) defeat the Goblin Queen. Madelyne however is lost as well.
Gambit
The Six find themselves in New Orleans where they encounter Gambit, who is now the leader of the thieves guild. Having owed Bloodstorm a favor for saving his life, he gives them sanctuary from the " Friends of Humanity" and anti-mutant terrorist group. Gambit however is betrayed by one of his own, and his wife is killed. He then leaves the guild and joins with the six, and he and Bloodstorm reconcile their differences. Jean Grey joins the Six and helps them defeat an evil Professor Xavier who has been possessed by his adversary the Shadow King.
The Hunt for Dracula
The Six were contacted by an organization known as the Vault (a high security prison for super powered villains) A box containing Dracula had been stolen from the Vault by the Marauders. Bloodstorm sensing her maker volunteered to track it down and bring it back. In her pursuit Bloodstorm became more and more violent attacking people and beating answers out of them. Gambit who followed her tried to calm her, but failed. Bloodstorm eventually found her way to the Morlock tunnels where she engaged the Marauders in battle, killing two of them, all the while growing more and more violent. Gambit eventually shows up and seeing that the closer she gets to the box the more evil she became, Gambit blew it down one of the drain pipes with a card. Bloodstorm immediately regained control over herself.
A Cure

She is cured
While in the tunnels, Bloodstorm and Gambit are ambushed by the Morlocks who are all dressed like druids. Bloodstorm looses consciousness and Gambit disappears. When Bloodstorm awakes she meets Dagger, the leader of the Morlocks. Dagger has crucified Gambit for unspoken crimes against them, and he is hung up where the suns deadly rays will reach him upon sunrise. Bloodstorm challenges Dagger in exchange for his life, and much like the battle between Storm and Colisto, no powers are allowed. Bloodstorm bests Dagger stabbing her in the chest when it is revealed that Dagger is actually Cloak and Dagger and the two of them had become one. The Morlocks drag Cloak and Dagger away and Bloodstorm helps Gambit down from the cross just before the sun reaches him. The two of them however have both decided that they would rather not live on as vampires and they wait for the sun to finish them. However before they are killed, Ice Man creates an ice shield over the opening blocking the sunlight, and Havok brings them two vials, telling them that it's not a cure, but it will make them immune to sunlight and it will remove the dependency on blood.
Dracula the Beyonder and the Goblin Queen

Slaying Dracula
The Beyonder rises from the center of the Earth after a cosmic scale battle between Captain America and Havok. He absorbs the memories of Captain America, and goes in search of Havok who he calls the "Key to everywhere." The Six Return to their castle where Havok is attacked by Dracula who bites him. The Six try to fight him off, but he easily overwhelms them when they are all suddenly hit by some strange psionic attack, felt through the universe as the Beyonder has returned. The X-Men, lead by Magneto come to the aid of the Six, but are slowly killed off by Dracula. First Quicksilver, then Mystique, then Polaris. Jean is attacked and left paralyzed. Iceman and Beast work together to hold off Dracula while Havok is revived. The last to defend against Dracula is Elektra who sacrifices herself in an effort to stop him but tragically failed. The Six escape as Magneto comes to a secret fortress where they prepare for the more prudent threat at hand, the Beyonder, who is later revealed to actually be the Goblin Queen in disguise. While Havok does battle with the Goblin Queen, Dracula attempts to kill the last of Earth heroes when Bloodstorm stakes him through the heart, and he dies. Havok defeats the Goblin Queen and she is forced out of Madelyne Pryor's body who is returned to her son, though Havok disappeared after that returning to his own reality.
Reality Hopping

Machine Man and Bloodstorm
Later, Bloodstorm was pulled from her own reality by Machine Man of Earth-9997 and joined the Heralds. They were sent on mission in alternate worlds to warn them of a Celestial at the center of the Earth. Bloodstorm's group was sent to an Earth where everyone had been turned to vampires. Though she accomplished her mission of warning them of the Celestial, they all agreed to just end their miserable existence, choosing death over their own Vampirism. Machine Man theorized that Bloodstorm's vampirism could be reversed through a simple blood transfusion from her still mortal counterpart in an alternate reality. As a reward for helping, she was cured of her vampiric state. Though it is never revealed weather or not the theoretical cure worked, or what affect this would have on her vampiric powers.
Powers & Abilities
Vampirism
Bloodstorm has the same powers as Earth-616 Storm, just with a Vampiric twist. Bloodstorm, like all other vampires, is capable of transforming an individual into a vampire by biting them. A special enzyme found only within vampire saliva is responsible for this transformation. After draining all of the blood from a victim, the victim enters a death-like state and returns to life three days later.
- Superhuman Strength: Like all vampires, Bloodstorm possesses superhuman strength, capable of lifting 4 tons
- Superhuman Speed: Bloodstorm is capable of running and moving at speeds far greater than even the finest human athlete.
- Superhuman Stamina: Bloodstorm's body is more resistant to the fatigue toxins generated by her muscles during physical activity. She can exert herself at peak capacity for several hours before fatigue begins to affect her.
- Superhuman Agility: Bloodstorm's agility, balance, and body coordination are enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural limits of the human body.
- Superhuman Reflexes: Bloodstorm's natural reaction time is enhanced to levels that are far beyond the natural limits of the human body.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: Bloodstorm is capable of regenerating damaged or destroyed tissue to an extent much greater than an ordinary human. Bloodstorm can fully heal from multiple gunshots and severe burns within a matter of minutes, however she cannot regenerate missing limbs or organs, unless reattached.
- Immortality: Bloodstorm, like all vampires, is functionally immortal in the sense that she is immune to the effects of aging and is immune to all known Earthly diseases.
- Fangs: Like all vampires, Bloodstorm has fangs and claws. She can quickly drain a victim of blood.
- Hypnotism: Bloodstorm is able to hypnotize others by gazing into their eyes for a short period of time.
- Shapeshifting: Bloodstorm is able to shape shift into bats, rats, a wolf, and mist. She can also turn into human-sized or larger wolfen and bat-like forms.
- Sorcery: Bloodstorm has the latent potential fo magic like her ancestors. These mystical abilities seem to have been amplified by her vampirism. She can summon spirits and shadows to do her bidding.
- Mind Control: A person bitten by Bloodstorm is able to be influenced by her through a sort of empathic link. Only beings of exceptionally strong wills are capable of resisting him.
- Vampiric Telepathy: Commonly refered to as Whisper, or Lore, vampires can communicate with one another, sense one another, and even hypnotize there victims with a limited form of vampiric telepathy. Primarily, it is an undeveloped power of suggestion that can only be resisted by those with exceptional will power.
- Telepathic Resistance: Bloodstorm is resistant to telepathy, though not immune.
- Weather Manipulation: Bloodstorm's ability to manipulate the weather is both biological due to her mutation and supernatural due to the mystical properties of her nature, making them very unique in nature. Several times in the past, Storm has been described as a "sculptress". This is (arguably) the best way to describe her mutant mastery over weather, and certain forms of energy. Bloodstorm's powers are reflective of her counterparts in almost every way. When Storm uses her psionic powers, she sees the world as colorful, constantly changing energy patterns, rather than solid matter. These energy patterns can be "molded" to Storm's will to create a vast number of effects which mainly deal with weather manipulation. Storm is greatly in tune with nature and the elements. She can feel them, and likewise they react to her emotional state. She can manipulate weather patterns on a variety of scales, including the ability to summon large and violent thunderstorms and blizzards, as well as sleet and hail.
She has the ability to fly by gliding on wind currents. She can also move objects or other people with the wind or create a dome of air pressure to deflect attacks. Storm's power over air pressure has also been used to crush powerful objects such as Skrull warships. She has even created pressure (on Earth) higher than that found on Jupiter. Bloodstorm's powers grant her the ability to fly as high as the atmosphere can be stretched by using her mastery over wind. She can even carry other people with her. Bloodstorm can also use the weather as a weapon. She can summon lightning bolts from the sky that can be used to blind, stun, or severely burn her opponents, even to the point of death. She can also use this ability as a concussive force, even strong enough to affect the Silver Surfer.
When using her powers, Bloodstorm becomes one with the energy patterns she manipulates. This gives her the ability to project weather effects through her body. For instance, she can generate lightning, intense cold, and intense heat, from her hands rather than from her actual atmosphere. Her power over thunder has been used to create deafening sounds for distracting her enemies. She can create powerful tornadoes, hurricanes, and various winds that are capable of moving a vast number of objects/people including levitating an entire building, and sending the Hulk soaring away from her and her teammates. Her ability over water and its forms has been shown by her creating heavy rainfall, and instant floods that have even "washed" away Savage Land dinosaurs. Control over moisture and temperature allows Bloodstorm to freeze/flash freeze objects and people in the blink of an eye.
Bloodstorm has been shown to be able to command the Earth's biosphere vocally, even calling out to "Mother Nature" to protect its child.
She seems unaffected by the weather, including lightning and temperature. It has often times been suggested that Bloodstorm has a psionic link with energy patterns, and that weather patterns just happen to be the most natural for her to be able to manipulate. This is further shown by her being able to reverse/counter electrically-based attacks.
- Earth-Link: Storm's mutant powers have created a psychic bond between herself and the primal life force of Earth's biosphere. This bond with the Earth and apparently the entire universe, gives Storm spiritual and material sustenance with an almost empathic sense towards living thing. Her bond has even allowed her to when in space summon a solar flare and the ability and call upon and manipulate a large amount of cosmic energy.
She has diverted jet streams so as to create storms over the entire East Coast of the United States. (AN: It should be noted that Storm has on two occasions tapped into electromagnetic energy to enhance her powers; once to stop a blizzard over Canada and second to create a cosmic-level turbulence around the Earth to block solar radiation. She can create weather effects within indoor areas or within artificially maintained environments: for example she could create an indoor rainstorm. She can create weather effects over very small areas; as when she water her potted planets. Using her precise control over air, she has even been shown to control the very air in a person's lungs.
Interesting facts:
Storm (Earth 616) actually was bitten by Dracula in Uncanny X-Men #159. However Storm did not succumb to the thirst, and her empathic connection to all living things helped restore her. Bloodstorm is an homage based character honoring the popularity of punk rock and magic based characters of the 1980's with her mohawk, biker gear and the supernatural prowess.
Abilities
Expert Thief: Extraordinary ability at picking locks and pockets, escape artist; therefore, she is very stealthy and good at sneaking up on people.
Expert Combatant: She is an experienced hand-to-hand combatant. She is also an extraordinary marksman with handguns.
Strength level
Superhuman strength capable of lifting up to 4 tons
Weaknesses
Claustrophobia (Formerly) Bloodstorm had to quickly get over her claustrophobia when she had to grow accustomed to sleeping in a coffin.
Physical Condition: Bloodstorm is limited by the force of her will and the strength of her body. Though as a vampire, her physical limits have greatly increased, and have yet to be tested.
Bloodstorm's powers come from both her natural mutant powers, as well as her mystical vampiric powers. Therefore, her powers are simultaneously supernatural, however her potentially growing Omega-level powers seem to have been stunted by her vampirism. Bloodstorm can be killed by having a stake plunged into her heart, somehow interrupting the mystical energies that keep her alive. Bloodstorm can also be killed by being decapitated and being exposed to fire.
