@daredevil21134: I like werewolves a lot, but having him fight werewolves throughout the entire film is just too close to Underworld for my personal taste. With that being said, I'm not opposed to there being a scene where he kills werewolves. Like an opening montage of him killing different supernatural threats to show how much ass he kicks.

@oscuro: If its a reboot, it has to deal with vampires. All of Blade's stories start with him as a vampire hunter before progressing to other monsters.

Unless, Dr. Strange ends with him freeing Blade from prison, like he does in the comics, in order to form the Midnight Sons.

@trackz: I don't think it has to deal with vamps. Hopefully with 3 films under his belt people will watch at least 1 of them ahead of time and get the basic idea. I wouldn't mind having Morbius as the "villain" of the movie though, but any other cannon fodder types foes could be something other than vampires. I'm sure the screenwriter can come up with a half decent excuse for why there are others creatures running around.

@oscuro: I dunno man, the last movie came out nearly a decade ago, not to mention Strange transforming Blade's hatred of vampires, to that of everything supernatural was a key moment that I don't think should be skipped in the movies. Also introducing vampires into the larger marvel universe could be really cool. Blade taking on a vampire SHIELD (like he's done 2 or 3 times) division could actually be a really cool.

This is hard for me. Maybe they could combine the two? Like it's a virus from a demonic dimension? I actually think the movies did a pretty great job of balancing the two.

Yeah I like the idea of combining them.

Personally I prefer vampirism to not be some virus that can be cured. At least not by hard as f*** means that bare barely accomplishable.

@jonny_anonymous: @blackwind: @trackz: Im not opposed to the idea of some type of middle ground between virus and mystical origin for vampires (Im assuming we mean for in a new Blade film) personally I don't want to waste even a second of screen time explaining vampires origins. The Midnight Sons were mentioned in passing for the first time in I don't know how long ing Axis: Avengers and X-men. Could that be a hint at a possible return of the team?

Nice surprise to see Blade turn up in Wolverines 14 and 15. Takes out Siphon, who was wrecking Daken.

@jonny_anonymous: Yea, definitely wasn't just background. He almost kills Siphon but X-23 talks him out of it. Seems to respect X-23. I thought it was odd Blade didn't seem to care about Wolverine being dead given their history.

New Blade series leaked

Hopefully this isn't the end of Eric Brooks, but maybe a chance to expand Blade's universe. I definitely support Marvel diversifying their products, and a mantle is just a mantle, but we've maybe had one serious Blade (Eric) story (in the mighty avengers) in 9 years. I think we should all support this though. With talks about Marvel creating a Blade netflix series, Eric Brooks will definitely be back if only to give viewers a jump on point.

Huh… I guess I'll bite, 3.99 price tag on every Marvel title is making it more difficult to just give everything a good shot, but Blade holds a lot of interest with me.

Also a father-daughter focused comic could be be refreshing

@keepcalm: I love the design and I love Seeley so I'm pretty excited for this.

Sold on this. He's focused on Blade's character growth first and foremost, which is refreshing...literally haven't seen that since his second series, although Cornel fit in a bit in MI:13.

I'm also a fan of the new suit, a solid step away from his movie counterpart, but still very reasonable. No more ridiculous mustaches or haircuts.

I also love that he's doing what we've been asking for so long and movie Blade away from vampires for a bit. Naming the series "Blade: The Hunter", instead of "The Vampire Hunter" is a solid step in the right direction.

@trackz: I talked to Seeley on twitter and he said Blade was definitely still English and that he sees him as Idris Elba.

@trackz: I'm not digging the new look at all. Looks better tan most of his appearances. I liked his look in Deadpool: The Gauntlet. That and the oversized katana are my only gripes thus far. I'm on board though

@oscuro: oh I kinda like the new look, a bit more modernized, although to be fair i got tired of the kevlar a while ago. also it depends on what that big sword is...if they're finally giving blade a signature sword i'm on board with it. still blows my mind they haven't done that.

@trackz: I agree that the Kevlar was a bit old but the design of his outfit wasn't bad at all. I also liked the ronin outfit from mighty avengers. We are in agreement about him having a unique sword. Definitely seems long overdue

I thought I read somewhere that they were going to push back the release of the comic. Does anyone know anything about this or am I just mistaken?

@jonny_anonymous: seeley did tweet out a screenshot of his blade research folder, so at least we know he's working on it.
