    History

Charlie Bullock grew up in the slums of Gotham City on Earth-2. When he was a teenager, Ted Grant took him under his wing and trained him in martial arts.

Charlie went to law school and upon his graduation he joined the law firm Cranston and Grayson. He was at the time unaware that Helena Wayne (Huntress) and Dick Grayson (Robin) also worked there. A villain called Karnage broke into the offices of Cranston and Grayson looking for Charlie's boss, Arthur Cranston, and then after that there was an attack on a shopkeeper he also knew. After these events, Charlie came to the realization that gang warfare in Gotham was getting worse and something had to be done.

Charlie developed a costume similar to his idol, Batman, and took up the identity of Blackwing. The costume included an utility belt and artificial gilder wings.

His first mission against the criminal Boa was a disaster and he was captured; he was later saved by the Huntress. The two were known to often partner up. It's not known what happened to him after the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Charlie may exist on the new Earth-2 shown in 52.
