Last year, San Diego ComicCon had a similar exclusive, which contained Hal Jordan in a variety of corps outfits: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Blue. This year's exclusive seems a little more intriguing to me. It's not just another repaint of Hal... Now it's a repaint of Hal AND Sinestro. In all seriousness, these are some pretty awesome exclusive figures, and $20 a pop is something I'd feel comfortable paying for an exclusive figure, considering that the normal going rate for Green Lantern figures is between $16-$18. It seems like a fair rate.DC Direct will be offering 2 exclusive Blackest Night figures at this weekends Wondercon convention. The figures will be of Black Lantern: Hal Jordan and White Lantern: Sinestro. They will be limited to two of each figure per person and cost $20 each plus tax.
Whether you like the idea or not, it is great to see DC Direct putting out figures like this. Too many times, I've read a comic and said to myself, "That would make a great action figure" only to be let down when another Batman or Wolverine figure is released. And yes, as I said before, these may be repaints, but it's a repaint that people actually want. The only problem is getting a hold of these things AND getting away with them unscathed. ComicsAlliance said it best:
WonderCon is happening April 2-4 in Moscone Center South in San Francisco... This weekend, so pick me up a couple while you're there! In short, if you want one of these exclusive action figures, get in line early and keep your fingers crossed. If you do walk away with Sinestro and Hal Jordan, keep them secret and safe - getting those toys out of the convention hall in one piece will be like carrying the One Ring through a room packed with Ring Wraiths, so be warned.
High demand toys for one heck of a storyline that recently ended. What about you guys? If you were going to WonderCon, would you pick these up?
