I don't think emotions where what were fueling the Black Lanterns..last time I checked it was Nekron/Anti-Monitor's shell. "
i think the strength of the Lanterns varied in fights for example Jade would have more power over Kyle then say Manhunter would. I believe however strong you felt toward that lantern was how much power they had over you. some to the point that heroes couldn't even attack the lanterns because they were so close it felt like betraying a friend.
