Ardian Syaf has done extensive work for DC Comics, and his artwork was prominently featured in DC's summer event, Flashpoint, as he drew the covers for both Flashpoint: Emperor Aquaman #1 and Flashpoint: Reverse Flash #1. Post-Flashpoint, he worked on Batgirl and Batman/Superman.

While Syaf was employed at Marvel, he inserted several anti-Christian and anti-Jewish references into the background art of X-Men: Gold #1, in support of Islamist protests in Jakarta against the Christian governor. When this came to light, Syaf was fired by Marvel, and the company promised to remove the offensive references from reprints and trades of the issue.
