History
Origin
At first Bob Benton was a normal pharmacist working on an experiment with his assistant, Tim Roland, to make a tonic that could, as Bob puts it, help "run down people." While working on the experiment Tim accidentally adds something called "Formic Acid" which he is told comes from red ants. After getting mad at Tim for adding the wrong thing Bob inhales some of the resulting "Formis Ethers" and gains Super Strength and Invulnerability.
Seeing the potential of his newly acquired powers Bob decides to do something he's always day-dreamed about, use his strength to fight crime and evil. He then sends Tim to the costume shop and becomes the nemesis of evil, The Black Terror.
Believing the Bob may need help to wage his war on crime, Tim took it upon himself to take the Formic Ethers and develop the same powers as the Black Terror. Together they were known as the Terror Twins and went on to fight threats both domestic and foreign throughout World War II.
Project Superpowers (Current)
After the war, Carter, who was "CIA sanctioned”, starts capturing all the worlds heros, including the Black Terror, from the war and new heroes who appear, in the urn believing that if he traps all of the hero's of the war in the Urn that the world would be rid of evil.

When the Black Terror emerges from the urn he finds that things have dramatically changed in the world. The America he loved and served in now under a corrupt dictatorship and Dynamic man, who was one of his fellow heros, is now a supervillain controlling New York City with his amazing Technology.
After a brief battle with Dynamic man the Black Terror is teleported away by the Green Lama and is told to begin the process of trying to adapt to the new world he finds himself in. His main objective however is finding out the whereabouts of his lost partner Tim Rolands.

The Black Terror's is one of Project Superpowers most powerful heroes, because of the formic ether's he and Tim created. His Powers include:
Berserker Superhuman Strength
The Black terror is capable of lifting 70 tons. He has several impressive strength feats including; stopping a train weighing in excess of 90,000tons, lifting and tossing tanks in addition to other random lifting feats. The Black Terror's strength is great enough that he rivals even the Mighty Samson in strength. The Black Terror also has highly developed leg muscles which allow him to leap at least 100 feet in Earth's gravity and catch a speeding car from behind. Agility and Stamina
In addition to his immense strength the Black Terror possesses superhuman agility greater than that of any professional Olympic athlete, The Black Terrors body produces a less fatigue poisons than a normal human which grants him superhuman stamina, making him virtually tireless. Ross:
Alex Ross will be bringing back the dead when he revives Black Terror along with many other superheroes in "Project Superpowers" a new series published by Dynamite Entertainment. He will be both artist and head writer in this upcoming series. He was the first superhero from "Project Superpowers" to have his own mini series because Black Terror appealed more to the creators of the Dynamite Entertainment comic "Project Superpowers".
“The Black Terror predates many other skull-wearing, black-clad heroes in fact all skull-wearing superheroes costume's was actually modelled after the Black Terror's. He’s a berserker-strong character that’s driven to beat up his enemies; there’s a bare-knuckled quality to this character. And it seems as if the skull and crossbones on his chest glows within the void of the night and the shadows. The black of his mask is treated as if the darkness almost overtaking him in the form of his mask even though he is a good hero that would never be weak willed enough to be taken into the darkness. The gloves, boots along with his new sword extend the idea of the character as somewhat of a superhero pirate, in effect. The buccaneer-style boots and gloves are really just a folding-down of the old versions of Black Terror's costume.
Well with someone like the Black Terror, he is, despite appearances, not simply a skull- emblazoned kill-em-all type character. He is, in fact, a sort of, “pirate Superman”, a black-clad Captain America or Superman -- a variation on those themes. Some have said he is like a Superman-Batman- Punisher hybrid or like a Superman pirate but with his own different behavior and motivations. He has a behavior like Superman but he wears the skull and crossbones on his chest f or two reasons, one reason is to strike fear into the wicked and unlawful. He is never afraid to give his life in order to protect the innocent life of another.
Terra Obscura (Older Publication)
In the universe of Terra Obscura, they basicly fought common criminals along side their teammates in the SMASH (
Society of Modern American Science Heroes or Society of Major American Science Heroes) team. Later in his life when he is retired and happily married, some criminals tried to shake Bob down for protection money but he refused to pay so they killed his wife. He decided to return to fighting crime so that no one may ever have to feel the sadness, anger and possibly guilt that he All the duo cover shot from felt. This time he returned as an over-the-top vigilante and with the name the Terror, which later became the Terrorist, due to his bare-knuckle beatings to any law breaker. He also earned the name the Criminal Enforcer, the name pretty much explains how he got it. Before he was killed in the SMASH battle with the alien from the moon (Tom Strong issue #11), he transferred his consciousness into a computer program called Terror 2000. The only way he could even accomplish that was the fact that he was a polymath, a being with the ability to have unlimited knowledge and ultimate intellect, it is so rare in humans there has been only a couple over the last 100 years.
The only problem with Terror 2000 is it doesn't have a soul and because of that it eventually became an evil killing machine that killed the now fully grown Tim Roland, Black Terror's sidekick. It tried to obtain power from Captain Future's spaceship but it ended up getting defeated by the original Black Terror, a time travelling version of course. Black Terror, Miss Masque and Death-Defying Devil Black Terror, Miss Masque and Death-Defying Devil On July 20, 1969 an alien was awakened by astronauts without them knowing the alien decided to follow them back to Earth. When the alien arrived at Earth he starting constructing Earth into a giant spaceship inorder Fem Force's Black Terror Fem Force's Black Terror to return home. It ended up engaging in battle with the members of the SMASH team due to the construction and trip probally ending millions of lives. In the horrific struggle between the alien and the members of SMASH many members died and the other ended up getting stuck in suspended animation.
They were stuck in suspended animation for 30 years until they were set free by the combined efforts of Tom Strong and Tom Strange. In issue #12 of Tom Strong it revealed that Black Terror died during the horrific battle and at that moment the Terror 2000 program was released. If it wasn't for Black Terror being a polymath he wouldn't have been able to time travel to the future and stop the Terror 2000 program and he wouldn't be alive to this day.

polymath power, it is a power that is the ultimate knowledge better than cosmic awareness and any intellect. With it you can take down an enemy that even has super strength while you have no powers because you will know every nerve in the human and alien body. You would know which nerve you could hit to paralyze them for life or even kill them, it is a very powerful and dangerous ability since it is an unlimited knowledge.
Being a polymath and having berserker strength and invulnerability (including his other powers) makes him the ultimate weapon, good thing no one can or will ever be able to control him. With his polymath ability he is able to time travel to whenever he wants though he doesn't do it that often. His polymath power means he is adaptive, he learns your attack and defense strategy each move you make against him.
