    That's because TV shows differentiate from the comic books. The Avengers: EMH cartoon seems to be doing him justice (and is somewhat based on the Christopher Priest version of Black Panther).

    Besides, his greatness does lie within comic book appearances. You probably haven't read enough.

    @blueninjapanther:
    He is strong.  He has peak human strength, which means he's about as strong as a person can be without being super-strong.

    ^ he's nearly as strong as captain america.

    he was strong enough to stop the charge of a bull elephant with his bare hands.

    at one point he had superhuman strength.

    He is a strong character, but not a following that is as strong Spidey's ect. There should be more stories where he is kicking but and showing great feats that are memorable that the reader can appreciate.

    Captain America admitted that T'Challa was his physical equal.

    Anyway, T'Challa never stopped the charge of a bull elephant. He was trying stop its charge, but it was pushing him against a wall. At the same time, there was a magician that brought the bull elephant to life (because it was originally a display in a museum), but his concentration was thrown off when a little boy punched him in the crotch. As a result, the bull elephant fell apart before it could crush T'Challa between itself and the wall.
