"Black Panther #6" Reviewed!

Alright, this was tough for me to say because I really love so much of Reggie Hudlin's work on Black Panther. I was not pleased with this ending, and I think that the book really could have taken a different direction. There are so many things I feel I would have done differently! What happened to the motivation behind Doctor Doom bombing Wakanda, anyway? What about Namor, what happened to him? We haven't seen either of these characters since the first two issues. Why did Morlun have to go down so easily? Sometimes happy endings are not as compelling as bad ones. I like comic books that have a bad ending. I like when my comic characters die at appropriate times because that often propels the plot forward, further establishes character development and it motivates readers to keep reading. I felt like Hudlin had a chance to give Shuri a dignified and glorious death, and he failed to do that. Storm was not portrayed as the powerful and dignified female character that she is, and if you ask me, Morlun went down a little bit too easily. It had the potential to be heartwarming and powerful; but unfortunately it was not. I have to admit I was not as moved by this issue as I had been previous issues. If you read this, I would love to hear your thoughts. How do you feel about a new (official) female Black Panther?

Also a thank you to Asia Lee for sending me a pair of her signature sunglasses. Check out her stuff here!

I do have to say that I was under the same mind set" if you will, that Shuri would die giving Death the soul he needed in order to set T'Challa and Storm free. I men I was really sure that Shuri was gonna die. So on that note I will have to agree with you, Babs. It was a little underwhelming. I really liked the thought of Morlun being T'Challa's villian, but it seems he now belongs to Shuri. Don't get me wrong i enjoyed this issue and every one that came before it, I just pictured it going differently in my mind.

I had messed up on me. It would only go to 32 seconds and then cut off. But I left the thread and came back and it works just fine now. Sorry about that.

Never would of imagined you were such a sadist. lol

I understand what you mean though. Sometimes 'happy' endings can be really corny.

Is T'challa still dead?

Babs and Namor sitting in a tree, wait...
Babs and Namor flying through the air. He's got the muscles and the slick black hair.
Babs is fainting cause she sees his underwear.
And that's what we call a Crush!

U wanted her to die? lol man ooohh man..... I was shocked when I heard you say that.

I think the whole Black Panther relaunch would have been pointless if Suri was killed so quickly and T'Challa took back the mantle. She just put on the tights, lets see what she can do.

I just finished the issue last night. It was very disappointing , but most of the BP dark reign issues have been. How can Storm go from being a real Queen of Wakanda (Storm: worlds apart) to a semblance of a character out of Love and rockets :(
