jolly green mob tactics
its ok if you missed the first chapter, so did i. but i have the added benefit of picking up 'The New' Fantastic Four featuring this lineup. the titles didnt especially intertwine though. theres also the handy summary page to start things off. i jumped on board for this cover alone(not afraid to admit it). this story arrived well before the Secret Invasion crossover, and thankfully after the zombie arc. nothing against the zombies - i just like them terrorizing their alternate earth where theyre A-list. nowadays, i dont really want to hear from the skrulls. i wont kick a skrull story off the stack, we just need a little space for now. but this was a great use of their influence. probably wouldnt be great if half the members of the the new FF werent present though,..given the history.still - theres some exploration into their society and how it functions. it build on some of the earliest appreances of the skrulls on earth, and what they did with the intel when it was brought home. the Thing also made a previous showing on this foreign world, thereby giving him the raise profile of a legend. this being his title though, Black Panther breaks out as a leader - even when the odds start to stack against the team. a big plus for the rest of the storyline is the introduction of separate turfs/faction within the system. some really great action..and who deserves it more than the skrulls - theyre a green menace!
