How doesn one become a Black Lantern?

Black Lantern Corps are composed of re-animated bodies of former heroes, villains and even normal people from all across the DC Universe. They are powered by the corpse of the Anti-Monitor and are led by the Black Hand.

now im not an expert in the green lantern mythos, but ive done some reading and i know that there are several lantern corps and tribes.

I know about Blackest Night and Brightest Day, but i have a question coming into the New 52 of things.

How does one become a Black Lantern? Recently in Green lantern 12, i hear that there is a prophecy that says, Hal Jordan will become the greatest Black Lantern, or maybe i heard wrong but that carries a question with it.

Does he have to die, can he find a way, or does it have to do something with the emotional spectrum. Any help would be nice

there are 2 ways:

1) you must be dead.

2) killed be a black lantern

You have to want to be black.

You must be dead and have ties to the living or be killed by a black lantern.

You have to be in a grave dead or be killed by a black lantern and if you have been ressurected
