how did black bolt beat gladiator?

Easy. HE YELLED AT HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't remember any of the fights between the two clearly...I know there was alot of PIS.I think he may have even beat held his own with Gladiator in strength alone at one point..which is complete bullsh#t.

I remember once he whispered in his ear which put him down for a while, I think. I'm pretty sure they crossed paths recently was when he actually physically went toe to toe with him, but I don't think he actually beat him in that encounter [not that I remember it all that well]. 

I think the better question is..has Blackbolt actually beaten Gladiator...here's  snippet.

It seems Marvel is doing what DC did years ago, by upgrading the power levels of their characters.Black Bolt has also traded blows with likes of the Hulk,Thor,and Namor.

Black Bolt kicked Namor's ass, which isn't always a difficult feat but he definitely has some strength.  
 

Gladiator's powers are completely controlled by his confidence and perception. If you just make him *think* you can beat him, you can. Cannonball defeated him once. Mantis and Rocket Raccoon recently convinced him he was being destroyed with a weapon that didn't exist. If his confidence is low, or he's intimidated by you, Gladiator can easily be defeated.
 
As for Black Bolt, this is a guy who's very presence makes Apocalypse tremble. He can close black holes with the antenna on his head. He is (or was) king of the Inhumans for good reason.
