- Cable VS Bishop for the fate of Mutantkind
March 12, 2008 - G~man
Origin
Bishop was born in the late 21st Century of Earth-1191. In this future reality, the mutant-hunting Sentinels had taken over North America. Most mutants, including the X-Men had been killed. Surviving mutants were hunted down and either killed or placed in relocation camps. Bishop and his sister Shard, were both born in one of these camps and branded with an M tattoo over their right eye.
The Sentinels were eventually defeated by mutants and humans working together. Mutant and human relations were still at odds. Not wanting humans to hunt down criminal mutants, the Xavier Security Enforcers was created so that mutants could police themselves.
Bishop had heard the legends of the X-Men from his grandmother and when the opportunity came, joined the XSE with his sister. In pursuit of a former XSE classmate turned rogue, Bishop and two teammates, Malcolm and Randall, followed Trevor Fitzroy into the past. Due to the mechanics of time-travel in the Marvel Universe they ended up in Earth-616 (the main Marvel reality). Malcolm and Randall were killed and Bishop became stranded in the past.
Professor X offered Bishop a place in the X-Men. Bishop became essential in several missions. Some time later, Bishop decided to lend his abilities to the N.Y.P.D. when crime in the borough known as Mutant Town became too much for the police.
Recently, Bishop may have done the unthinkable. In an attempt to kill the first mutant child born since M-Day, he shot and killed Xavier-the first man to ever believe in him.
Characteristics
Gender - Male
Height - 6'6"
Weight - 223 lbs
Eyes - Brown
Hair - Black
Powers
Bishop has the ability to absorb energy and project it as concussive blasts. He can also store energy which can increase his strength and recuperative abilities. He also has the ability to always know his location.
Alternate Realities
Earth-616
Bishop has no counterpart in the main Marvel reality. This is because he has probably not been born yet.
Earth-295
Bishop has no counterpart in the Age of Apocalypse either. The Bishop that appears is the main Bishop from Earth-1191.
Earth-1610/Earth-2107
The Ultimate universes Bishop came back from a future timeline to stop Cable from killing Charles Xavier. He became trapped on Earth-1610 and since the X-Men disbanded after failing to prevent Xavier's death, Bishop began to assemble his own group of X-Men with base in Australia.
Because this version of Bishop came from a future timeline his own reality wouldn't be Earth-1610 but has been designated Earth-2107.
X-Men: The End
In this reality Bishop had a daughter with Deathbird. The daughters name was Aliyah Bishop
