To me, to some degree or another, this issue seemed a little exploitive. But maybe that's just me.
Between the background piano and the echo, it was a bit difficult hearing. Maybe that's just me though....
The beginning was a little weird, but after that everything was good. The art's strong, the story had a twist, and the end had me wanting a lot more.
" To me, to some degree or another, this issue seemed a little exploitive. But maybe that's just me. "I have to completely disagree. I think it was poking fun of exploitation and made Penguin look like a moron because everything that happened was in his mind, in his imagination and outside of reality. What he envisioned would never happen in continuity, and makes him look like a loser. :)

Now, I can agree that given Penguin's character, it does make sense, but I'm not completely sure it enhanced my reading experience too much. And that should be the goal. So, does it fit Penguin's character? Yes. Could I see him doing that? Yes. Is it really necessary though? I'm not entirely sure it is." " @Babs said:Okay, I don't think it was necessary either, but it was funny and only added to poking fun of the Penguin's character. I'm usually the first to jump up and say something is sexist, but looking at the context of the story and the dialogue, it was comedic. The scenes that took place would never actually happen. Remember, It's Gail Simone, she's the biggest feminist in the industry." @Silver2467 said:I can see Penguin doing something that pathetic, but to me, it just seems like an excuse for fan service. " @Silver2467 said:Well, fair enough. I don't usually find those instances to be humorous, usually; so my disagreement with you on that may just be a matter of taste. I'm not saying it was sexist, necessarily. I just didn't get the humor out of it that you did, apparently. :)" @Babs said:Okay, I don't think it was necessary either, but it was funny and only added to poking fun of the Penguin's character. Sexy isn't sexist. Believing in the superiority of a sex(gender) is sexist. Being, graphic, lude, tacky, slutty, tantalizing, flirtatious, etc isn't sexist. You can say it's unwanted (by some wanted by others) against your taste or whatever but it's not sexist. Gender isn't defined by appearance. Objectification is not the same as exploitation either. Look up the words.
Babs : "....there's more people messing with these girls." ...and Hawk!
There is a dude in BoP!
How come you guys split up the reviews this week? Is it because you guys were busy with the move to the new place? Or are the reviews going to be solo again?

This was an excellent issue and I really liked the first scene. It gives the Penguin some character.
I haven't read issue #2 so I will have to read that first...

But the comic was good. Dont really know who those guys at the end were but whatever.
urgh ... I hate not being able to see these videos! Please upload to youtube. :'(
Who is it??? who does BC think it is? [: someone wanna tell me?
Good to hear that it's good. I'm getting this issue as soon as possible.
" seems like a good book! but get Hawk and Dove out of there "I disagree, not with it being good, i like having Hawk there specifically to balance out the females in the roster.I'm not saying I wouldn't like it if he wasn't there but it seems to be working out having the two of them and Dove being such a calming influence is working out well, although it may just be that Simone is a great writer. In fact my only possible complaint is that Lady Blackhawk doesn't get her share of the lime light but it kind of makes sense when there has to be so much communication between Canary and Oracle.
This was one of the things about this book I sort of liked and sort of didn't. For me it was distracting trying to work out the point of it. At first I thought the fan service seemed really out of place in this book then I realised it wasn't fan service for the sake of fan service but for subtly pointing out how weird and perverse fan service is (which i liked). But even so it seemed pointless and distracting." @Silver2467 said:

Glad to see BC doing her thing well shortly after the breakup with Oliver. But my concerns with these Birds of Prey comics. Is it degrading to the women readers or am I just sensitive? lol.
I still think the White Canary is Shiva.
Love Ed Benes art work , I have to say that Brazillian artist are my favorittes^^
