    Shocking Ending 0

Duane Swierczynski has been writing Birds of Prey for two issues now and they have been enjoyable and have surprised me how well written they are. Does he continue his story through to issue #3?  THE GOOD: The art is amazing in this series so far. It's so simple but there is a lot of details in the background and it makes the whole story really enjoyable. The story is my favorite part of this issue however. We get to see Poison Ivy get introduced into the team and things could go better. We also...

You Might Think you're a psychotic killer... 0

Art - The art has no consistency at all. It goes from sloppy, but passable to fairly decent, and back again over and over again. Ivy's costume is ugly. The inker makes a few obvious saves on the line art, but the sharp squiggle shadows are fairly ugly as well. It's probably mean to ding the colorist on this, as a lot of comic book artists/colorist have forgotten the value of fore/back ground saturation and focus, but there are a number of panels where this would be useful to have and yet it isn'...

Solid, But Needs to Break the Mold 0

The Good: Although there's a few bad body proportions on the cover, the overall presentation as actually pretty smooth and well laid out. The smaller more compressed logo is a lot more streamlined and looks a lot better. Plus, there's a slight touch of 'bird'-ness to it moreso than the more extended logo. Each character is shown doing what they do best, and the background is a tree, key factor of the newest member. Also, props to Finch for making Katana's new costume look not half bad. Ivy looks...

    Things Are Getting Interesting 0

The Story: Starling and Katanna object to Black Canary's decision to allow Posion Ivy to join the team. After they finally agree, they investigate their lead about two men who are suppose to die.  My Thoughts:Birds Of Prey is another series I hadn't expected to enjoy as much as I am. Initially I wasn't pleased with the lineup. Not that I disliked the characters but only Black Canary remained on the team while the rest were new additions. So far I'm liking Starling who is brand new character.  Th...

"Now let me tell you a little nursery rhyme..." 2

Synopsis: Poison Ivy tags along the Birds of Prey as they learn about two more walking bombs on the loose. What's Good? To be honest, I always thought of Poison Ivy as just being misunderstood. She's still a super villain, but recently (Gotham City Sirens) she's kind of loosen up a bit. She's the type of woman that if you tick her off, particularly when it comes to something plant related, she will kill you. So, her being part of this new Birds of Prey group isn't that startling when you think...

    She's no killer 1

With the team coming together here so does the series as a whole.  The issue starts off with a bit more of the team/series administration but having a little scuffle or Ivy joining the team.  As soon as they have figured this out Ivy proves her worth by using a chemical concoction to get one of the enemy agents to talk.  This leads to a pretty well conceived mission aboard a passenger train to extricate two of the people being targeted by the enemy.  Things go pretty smoothly, until they don't a...

Bullet Points Review: Explosive Issue 0

This is truly an explosive issueArt: Excellent. Very fresh and the girls continue to look awesome.Enter: Poison Ivy. She has to do some antics to actually prove herself. Dinah persists she should join while Starling rejects the "walking salad"....:D Well, there are some light moments here and there providing nice comic relief.Story: I think the direction where the story is taking the birds of prey is quite unique and is now getting damn interesting. The issue does come out as a bit short as it en...

    Rhymes are dangerous!! 0

Story starts with Starling and Katana who are very skeptical about Poison Ivy joining their group. They completely distrusts her and even fights with her.The Good:Poison Ivy proves her worth when she manages the villain to talk(other three failed to do this) and reveal important information. She also saves all three of them from bomb blast. It was impressive to see Poison Ivy fighting for good. There comes the twist, I never thought nursery rhyme could play a major role. This whole concept is ju...
