    Confidence and Rushed Final Issues

     Collect time.

In my last review I said I felt these series were owing me a good portrayal of Captain Marvel, well, I must say that some of our complaints were listened by Cap himself and "corrected" by the Wizard's words to The Big Red Cheese... Who woulda say it? Why in the universe did the old man didn't told his champion those words 15 issues ago!?!

Well, I'm not going to complain, when finally I get what I wanted: a strong, confident, no-bars-hold Captain Marvel that can take in all of his foes almost by himself... Actually, although Captain Marvel Jr. and Mary Marvel (Wasn't in these series that was established that no one should shout Shazam a the Rock of Eternity?) are fighting side by side with him, they are more an accesory than anything else... for a change, Cap was rescuing them!

The art was great (although I have a little problems with Mary's portrayal on the cover... Wouldn't it be great to see this cover redone with a grown up Mary on it?) and whatever happened with Freddy's knuckles on the cover? They look gross!

The art on the interior is a different story, anyway. Cap's done right, Mary is GORGEOUS and Freddy, well, he's the same. Tawky Tawny is still GRRRRRREAT!!!

I may have a little complaint seeing Dr. Sivana reduced to a background character but, I said I was not going to say negative things this time.

Once again retaking the art... There was even Kirby Dots on this one! There were so many good shots, but I keep for me Mr. Mind hitting Dr. Sivana with Captain Marvel smiling, (my favorite) Captain Marvel ripping Mr. Atom's head off (with the Kirby Dots!) and Mary Marvel's first shot as a grown-up superheroine.

Too bad these series are ending just when Cap forgets he is being channeled by a "10 year old boy" and shows what he can do. I would LOVE to know that the writers who are going to write (eventually) a Captain Marvel in the main DCU can read this issue, there are interesting conclusions than can be read in Cap's head on this one.

I'm looking forward now to the Grand Finale now: A no questionable victory of Cap over a superpowered Black Adam (hopefully) and a "conclusion" to all the characters we saw during this volume of the Marvel Family's adventures.

I'm having the feeling we're not going to see a second volume to BBatMoS. I don't know why, but it's the feeling I'm getting, specially with a so flamboyant meleé as the series ending.

I'm promising to myself that someday, I'm going to re-read these comic books once again beginning with Jeff Smith's MSoE.
