Betty Ross
Betty Ross is a comic book character that first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #1Betty Ross is a supporting character of the Incredible Hulk comic books, and is a love interest to Bruce Banner aka the Hulk. Over the years, while she has made countless attempts to try to cure Bruce so they can live happy lives, but they always somehow fail.
Origin
Betty Ross is the only child of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross as well as the girlfriend of Bruce Banner. Betty spent her youth compressed under her father's strict army hand.Thunderbolt Ross had always hoped for a son to follow in his footsteps, and his adversity at having a daughter was reflected in the way he raised her. Betty's mother died in her teenage years and was put under her fathers full care. he decided that an army base is no environment for a girl, so he sent her away to a boarding school. after graduating, she soon returned to her fathers side.Thunderbolt Ross was then in charge of a top-secret project to create a new type of weapon involving gamma radiation. The head scientist on the project was Bruce Banner, whom her father abhorred. An attraction between Betty and Bruce soon became aware. when she takes an interest in Bruce, her father fell uninterested with her. when the experiment when explosively wrong, injuring her, and banner became the hulk. she felt sad of the fact that her love himself is transformed into the Hulk and as the years pass, Betty tried to find something of a cure to stop Bruce from turning into the Hulk. for some strange reason though, she could still see the person she loved inside the Hulk (if you got past the muscle and rage).
The Harpy
At one point, Betty is kidnapped by MODOK to be used as a weapon against the Hulk. In trying to create a creature that can stand up to and defeat him, MODOK infuses Betty with more gamma radiation than even Bruce was exposed to. The result is the creation of a deadly creature with a lust to destroy Hulk.
As Hulk and Harpy fight, she tells him that she's really Betty. This causes Hulk to hesitate and allows Harpy the upper hand. Thunderbolt Ross recognize his daughter and tries to convince her she is not a brutal beast.
Later with help fro Bi-Beast, Harpy is reverted back to Betty Ross.
Married Life
Soon, when she and Bruce are wedded, Betty still loved the person she knows inside the Hulk. Soon enough, things take a turn for the worse as Betty's constant exposure to the Hulk gave her gamma sickness and nearly dies. Bruce is able to figure out a cure using his blood, but the Hulk's nemesis, the Abomination, swaps his own blood with Bruce's before the transfusion. Betty dies from the radiation and General Ross blames the Hulk for his daughter's death.
With Bruce blamed for Betty's death he goes on the run and General Ross begins hunting him again. While on the run Bruce figures out how Betty died, and the General then confesses to the Hulk that he no longer blames him for Betty's death after he finds out the truth behind her death.
