The MASKED RIDER is our lead and cover feature this issue, startin’ off the stampede of Wild West comic book action in a tale titled “Tightrope of Fear”, drawn by Pete Morisi. Then, crack artist Joe Certa provides the illustration for a DURANGO KID opus called “Crooked Irons”, originally seen in M. E.’s Durango Kid #3. TIM HOLT as Redmask appears, courtesy of Frank Bolle, in a 1952 drama, “The Sheriff of Silver Creek”, from Tim Holt #32. MONTE HALE rides through with “The Highjacked Herd”, with art by Bob Laughlin, as originally seen in Fawcett’s Monte Hale Western; and The HAUNTED HORSEMAN stars in the enigmatically- titled “Assignment: Hanted Horseman”, drawn as always by the great Dick Ayers. (Originally published in Ghost Rider #11, 1953.) All these great full-story vintage reprints, plus full-page repros of TWO great John Severin-drawn covers for Prize Comics Western, and inside cover photo stills featuring Charles Starrett from two Durango Kid films; “Both Barrels Blazing” and “West of Dodge City”. 44 pages, black & white with color covers, standard comic book size and format, saddle stitched.
