Beautiful Creatures 2 of 2
Up for review we have Beautiful Creatures #2 of 2.
So the story picks up pretty much where we left off in issue #1. There are 4 college aged friends who are somehow linked to each other and linked to the past. Long ago past.
Flashback to about 1000 years ago. One of the girls is a Banshee, and is about to be killed by this "Fat" man. Their arch enemy who seems to get the best of the girls every 1000 years. He gains his power by killing other creatures. And each time the girls try and fail at killing him. All throughout the book the girls have flashbacks as to what they have done in the past. Jogging their memory enough to try and piece together what they have to do this time to kill this evil man and end it once and for all.
They decide to head back to their place, where they were originally attacked by these red cap creatures. If they can get information out of them maybe they can trace down their enemy. Well, their first attempt at interrogation fails, but they do gain a lead with the second attempt. They discover the whereabouts to another fiendish creature named Robin. The guy in charge of the red caps. A battle ensues, and he does a pretty good job of fighting them off, until he gets blasted out of his house and dies, that is. But, with the help of a new found power from the Banshee, they are able to get all the info they need out of the ghost of Robin.
Off to England they go to track down this evil man. There are talks about how they are going to fight this guy, so they all don't die this time. Right off the bat he has an edge over the group. A huge battle ensues, and how will they take this guy out? I'll leave that for you to discover. At the end of the book they do leave this wide open for more. I rate this issue a 4.5 out of 5. I just wish there was more meat for me to chew on! I'm hoping they continue this story as it is pretty awesome...
