As I understand it, Kathy Kane and Kate Kane both exist in current DC continuity. So is there any connection between them? Are they relatives? Or is it a complete coincidence that there are two different women named Katherine Kane who both used the identity Batwoman? And which one of them is related to Bette Kane?

It appears that her origin is more complicated than that of Donna Troy.Kathy Kane is the original Batwoman.In the New Earth before DCnU her origin was changed.She was born "Katherine Webb".Her name Kane comes from her marriage to Nathan Kane who is of no connection to Kate.Nathan Kane is the brother of Martha Wayne. (Batman's Mother) Once Kathy became a crime fighter she was later killed by the League of Assassins.Kate Kane is the current Batwoman.I would give you her origin but it's been changed twice so I don't know it anymore.Let's just say they are two different characters.Bette or Elizabeth Kane I believe is Kate's cousin.In essence they have the same name by default.Had Kathy not been married we would have Kate Kane (current Batwoman) and Kathy Webb (Golden Age Batwoman).

Nathan Kane is brother to Martha (Kane) Wayne, and Kate Kane is mentioned to be cousin to Bruce Wayne - what mean that her father is in bloodline with Bruce mother - probably brother or '' cousin '' !!!

There Nathan Kane have to be brother or ''cousin'' to Jacob Kane... what lead to Kathy Kane (first Batwoman) is some sort of aunt to Kate Kane (second Batwoman).
