A friend of mine told me she appeared in Batwoman as a retired police woman with a kid. ( I know she's a lesbian but that's what he says). He said it was around Batwomans team up with wonder woman.

Not yet. The police woman with a kid is Maggie Sawyer, Batwomans girlfriend, but she's still actively a police detective.

Renee has only appeared in flashback, and as a photograph on the police station wall.

Is that how that works? They only put up pictures of dead officers?

Yeah It was a wall for fallen officers who died in the line of duty.

What story would you write to re-introduce Renee?

@dernman: It wasn't fallen officers it was officers (current or former) who had earned special distinction (or something like that) in the department. JHW3 has clarified this many, many times. Renee is alive and fine and apparently they finally got an answer on her from upper editorial so maybe we'll see her soon.

Can you link me to somewhere that shows this. I haven't seen him say that.

I'm really hoping that DC doesn't bring her back in order to split up Mags and Kate. I get that triangles add drama, but still the (sort of) quiet that Kate has with Maggie is one of my favorite parts of her series.

Maybe he should've had Maggie's picture on the wall so people would quit thinking they were dead officers or Gordon.

The way I'm reading these, I don't know if that actually confirms if she's alive.

I don't know what to expect from her coming back. I think it would be best if she came back in Batwoman, there was a little tension between Kate and Maggie because of it, Kate and Renee solve a case together, it's made clear that they've both moved on, and Renee goes off to solve mysteries or whatever, whilst Kate and Maggie are all fine.

I think she is still alive, and DC has no plans for the character on the new 52.
