i know the cape is part of the character and thats fine, but would he? the iconography of the character wouldnt change, and it would make bats more frightening and tough.  I just think it'd look cool in a noir story, or an updated version.  
 
 The normal costume is still pretty cool, especially when drawn by jim lee.
