Since the beginning of the new volume of Batman Incorporated, Bruce has kept Damian on a very tight leash. With the hit out on his head, Damian was confined to the Batcave for his own safety. At the end of Batman Incorporated #7, we see Damian convince Alfred to let him go and join his father and the rest of the family in the all-out war with his mother that's erupted across Gotham City. Alfred fetches Damian's Robin uniform and says: "I'll tell him you overpowered me, sir." Damian replies by telling Alfred that there was no real way to stop him because he already hacked the security protocols, and could fool the voice recognition if he needed to (which he does anyways to prove his point.) Alfred gives him his blessing and tells him: "Your father's very proud of you, young Master Damian. You know that." Damian then joins Tim and Dick in the war against Leviathan where he is eventually killed by his genetic clone and agent of Leviathan, The Heretic. It's no secret that if Damian had stayed behind, he wouldn't have been killed. With Bruce's history of spiraling depression and irrationality in the face of great tragedy, would he go as far as to blame Alfred for letting Damian go? Of course it wasn't Alfreds fault, it was Talia's. But it isn't hard to believe that Bruce would lash out at those closest to him, and the one he entrusted with the responsibility of watching over Damian was Alfred.
At the very least I hope Alfred keeps his promise of looking after Damian's animals (Alfred the Cat, Titus, and Bat-Cow.)
